We personally loved the energy, but if you’re looking for a more peaceful time there, take a stroll early in the morning or stay at the quieter end on the north side of the premises. 

The fine sand meets the clean and well-maintained water, thanks to the strict environmental policies implemented. 

The beach is also near Vinpearl Island if you want to enjoy amusement parks and a more luxurious stay for your vacation.

Pro tip:

If you’re interested in marine life, you can book a scuba diving trip to Hon Mun Marine Park. It’s one of the best spots to see over 350 species of coral reefs!

2. An Bàng Beach – Hội An

The An Bàng Beach is also called “The Blue Paradise of An Bàng” because of its fine white sand and crystal clear waters.

You can combine this with a visit to Hội An’s UNESCO-listed ancient town, just about 3 km away from the beach. 

If you want to explore the whole beach, you can rent a bicycle and look for hidden gems like underrated cafes along the way!

Pro tip:

The best time to visit An Bàng Beach is from March to September, when the weather is mostly dry and sunny. If you want to avoid the crowds, the best time is from October to February, but be aware of unexpected rains. 

3. Mỹ Khê Beach – Da Nang

Mỹ Khê Beach is definitely a must-see attraction in Da Nang. It’s the most popular beach among locals and tourists, especially during the summer!

The beach boasts its clear, blue waters and the 9-km stretch of beautiful white sand. Because of this, Forbes nominated Mỹ Khê Beach as one of the world’s six most beautiful beaches. 

Aside from the beautiful beachfront, the surfing scene has also become well-known since 2018, when the city hosted its first international surf competition. 

From September to December, the winter waves regularly reach 1.5–2 meters, ideal for beginner to intermediate surfers.

For swimming, it’s permitted daily from 5 AM to 8 PM, with lifeguards on duty for guaranteed safety.

Pro tip:

Be wary of jellyfish. They come into sight around the summer season.

4. Hồ Cốc – Bà Rịa

If you want a quiet getaway without the hassle of the crowds of popular beaches, Hồ Cốc in Bà Rịa is worth checking out. 

Tourism in the area begins to pick up around November, and it becomes a place full of various activities such as swimming and seaside sports. You can set up a camp here, too!

Hồ Cốc is dubbed the “beach studio” due to its popularity for photoshoots, particularly for couples. The coconut and casuarina trees, together with the rustic wooden bridge, make a perfect scene for wedding photoshoots.

The word about Hồ Cốc’s beauty is starting to spread around, so now is the time to visit this underrated place!

Pro tip:

The Binh Chau Hot Spring is located just 5 km away from the Hồ Cốc Beach. If you want to experience hot mineral springs, mud baths that are believed to be good for health, and boiling eggs in the hot spring wells, we suggest you give this place a visit! 

5. Lăng Cô Beach – Thừa Thiên Huế

Lập An Lagoon is a blackish mix of fresh and salty water where you can see many local fishermen on the surface. You can try fishing with them!

6. Dốc Lết – Ninh Hòa

Unlike the busier beaches, Dốc Lết has a more relaxed, almost untouched feel. It’s well-known among locals for its powdery white sands, turquoise waters, and lush greenery.

The name “Dốc Lết” literally means “hill to crawl over,” a reference to the steep sand dunes you need to cross to reach the beach. It can be tiring, but it’s definitely worth it when you finally hit the shoreline. 

You may wonder what kind of activities are available in such a secluded place, but you’ll be surprised to know that there are a lot of fun things to do here, so you can enjoy your trip to the fullest.

There are boat rentals, parachuting, and beach camping!

The place is also perfect for seafood lovers as they can find local beachfront restaurants serving up freshly caught seafood, cooked on the spot.

If you take a short walk from the northern end of the Dốc Lết Beach, you will reach the Hon Khoi Salt Fields. This place is renowned for producing 740,000,000 tons of salt every year. You can give this place a visit and witness how the workers do it!

7. Hàm Rồng Beach – Phú Lộc

12. Long Beach (Bãi Trường) – Phú Quốc

Aside from swimming and water sports, visitors can also enjoy various seaside activities such as sunbathing, beach volleyball, and camping.

What visitors love the most about this beach is that it’s located near the center of Duong Dong Town, making it easy to get to other attractions nearby, like the town center and local night market.  

Pro tip:

The vibrant nightlife in Long Beach is well-known among tourists because of the beach bars and clubs within the area. Try to chill out and make the most of your evenings by trying out local tropical drinks and specialty cocktails. 

13. Đầm Trầu Beach – Ba Ria

Đầm Trầu Beach is famous for its crescent-shaped shoreline, rich greenery, and rocky headlands. In 2021, the beach was recognized as one of the world’s 25 most beautiful beaches by Travel + Leisure.

Thanks to the local conservation efforts, the beach is kept clean, and there’s only minimal commercial development. So, visitors can enjoy and take in the natural charm of Đầm Trầu.

Many visitors recommend planning the trip to Đầm Trầu around April to October. Although this falls during the rainy season, the weather is just right for swimming and other seaside activities.

Pro tip:

Since Đầm Trầu Beach is near the Co Ong Airport, you can closely witness when planes arrive and depart. Take the chance to capture the perfect shot – you, the golden sand, beautiful ocean, and a plane soaring behind you!

14. Bãi Cháy Beach –  Hạ Long

While relatively small compared to other famous beaches, the 1 km shoreline of Bãi Cháy Beach is a popular space for entertainment and relaxation. 

The place is a hub of activity and adventure, where visitors can engage in thrilling water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing, and surfing. At night, the beach comes alive with beachfront bars and clubs.

And if you’re into trying local delicacies, we recommend trying their grilled squid. Locally known as “chả mực,” it’s a specialty of the region that many visitors love because of its unique flavor and texture.

The beautiful beach is not the only attraction Bãi Cháy offers. There are various landmarks nearby that go along with your beach trip, including Bãi Cháy Bridge, Bãi Cháy Quarters, and more!

Pro tip:

We highly recommend visiting Bãi Cháy Night Market. It’s open from 6 PM until late, and there you’ll find hundreds of stalls selling souvenirs and local street food.

15. Long Hải Beach – Vũng Tàu

If you find other beaches in Vietnam to be too crowded and noisy, Long Hải Beach will give you peaceful waves and a space to breathe alongside its beautiful shore and waters.

The weekdays here are especially quiet, making it perfect for swimming, lounging under the shade, or just strolling.

Despite the quiet atmosphere, we can assure you that you won’t find this place boring. You’ll see fishermen hauling in their catch early in the morning and seafood shacks cooking up fresh dishes.

Pro tip:

You can visit Long Hải Beach at any time of the year. However, we highly recommend visiting around October to November because it’s the time when the cherry blossom forest blooms. Yes, real cherry blossoms by the beach!
