Top 5 Pharmacies in Vietnam Trusted by Locals for Fair Pricing and Reliable Quality

  • Product Availability. We checked if the shops carry a wide range of both local and international brands. This ensures you can find exactly what you need without visiting multiple locations.
  • Pharmacist Expertise. We looked at the clinical knowledge and language skills of the staff on hand. Having a pharmacist who can explain dosage in English is a lifesaver for expats and tourists.
  • Pricing and Transparency. We prioritized pharmacies that offer clear and standardized pricing for all customers. This helps avoid the confusion of haggling that sometimes happens in traditional street markets.
  • Convenience and Accessibility. We evaluated how easy it is to reach these locations and whether they offer reliable delivery. Fast access is vital when you are feeling under the weather and need help quickly.

Navigating a new country can be tricky when you need a quick health fix or a specific prescription. Luckily, finding a reliable pharmacy in Vietnam is much easier than you might think.

These days, the country is packed with modern retail chains and historic local shops that carry everything from basic vitamins to rare specialty drugs. Refilling your prescription or getting help for your aching body is now more accessible.

To help you figure out which Vietnam pharmacies are most reliable, I’ve spent time exploring the busiest streets and testing out the latest delivery apps to find the most trustworthy spots.

Pharmacity is truly the king of convenience in Vietnam, with over a thousand bright and modern locations nationwide.

It feels more like a wellness convenience store than a dusty old apothecary here. You can find everything from high-tech medical devices to your favorite imported snacks and skincare.

Their standardized pricing is a breath of fresh air, too! I really appreciate their ExtraCare loyalty program, which makes it easy to save money on regular purchases.

While most items are affordable, a few specific prescription drugs can be a tiny bit pricier than at small independent shops.

During my latest visit to a branch in District 1, the pharmacist was very patient and helpful when I was looking for a specific supplement.

However, I did notice that the experience varies per branch since some pharmacists might be more knowledgeable than others.

Pros

  • Over 1,000 branches nationwide
  • Standardized and transparent pricing
  • Huge range of wellness products
  • Membership points and discounts

Cons

  • Higher prices on select prescriptions
  • Staff expertise levels vary widely
  • Can feel more retail than clinical

Customer Reviews

The pharmacy is clean and has air conditioning. In addition to selling medicine, it also sells functional products and consumer goods. There are often many promotional programs, so watching for sales is a great way to shop. I especially like the Pharmacity brand masks and tissues here. (Translated)

2. 24H Pharmacy (Medigo App)

Website: https://www.medigoapp.com/

Address: 6 P. Hàng Bông, Hàng Gai, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội

Contact: +84329724472

Hours: Available 24 hours (Online Delivery)

The Medigo app is a game-changer for anyone who finds themselves sick in the middle of the night.

What’s impressive is how this app connects you with licensed 24/7 pharmacies and delivers in about thirty minutes! It’s also easy to use and even allows for direct tele-consultations with doctors or pharmacists.

Knowing that all their partners are Good Pharmacy Practice or GPP-certified also gives me a lot of peace of mind regarding the authenticity of the medicine. Plus, their courier’s speed is impressive even during the unpredictable rain in the city.

Just keep in mind that you’ll have to pay delivery fees and platform surcharges, and the costs can go up if you are ordering late at night.

As of this time of writing, the service is mostly restricted to major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. If you’re in their covered area, though, they’re the perfect solution for urgent needs when you cannot leave the house.

Pros

  • Delivers within 30 minutes
  • Reliable 24/7 operating hours
  • Direct video calls with doctors
  • Only uses GPP-certified partners

Cons

  • Service limited to major cities
  • Extra delivery and platform fees
  • Prices can surge late at night

Customer Reviews

Quick and easy spot to meet any pharmacy needs you might have during your trip. We got bug spray here and even antibiotic eyedrops when I developed a stye in my eye. The ladies here don’t speak much English but through Google Translate I was able to get what I needed with no problem. It was easy because I didn’t need a prescription for the antibiotic eye drops either. Prices were very reasonable. Would recommend to other travelers.

I had been uncomfortable with indigestion for a couple of days and used Google translate to describe my symptoms. I was prescribed some anti-bloating capsules to go in water and lots of probiotics which came to about £6. Within 30 minutes I felt so much better and no problems for the rest of the trip! Great service and friendly staff!

3. Nhị Trưng Pharmacy

Contact: +84 936 990 383

Hours: Monday – Saturday 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Sunday 6:30 AM–10:30 PM

Nhị Trưng is a legendary name in Ho Chi Minh City, having been around since 1986. They’ve built a huge amount of trust over the decades, which is why you will always see a crowd at their counters, so you might have to wait to get served.

If you’re looking for rare specialty medications that the big chains just don’t stock, Nhị Trưng is the place to go. Plus, the staff here are incredibly experienced and provide some of the best clinical advice in town.

Just note that they don’t have as many branches as the modern retail giants, so you might have to travel a bit to reach them. Nonetheless, the quality of the pharmaceuticals and the expert guidance make it well worth the trip.

Pros

  • Stockists of rare specialty medicines
  • Decades of clinical expertise
  • Trusted for authentic pharmaceuticals
  • Open early and stays open late

Cons

  • Very crowded; long wait times
  • Most branches are in District 1
  • Traditional shop style can be hectic

Nhi Trung Pharmacy is located right at the corner of Hai Ba Trung and Nguyen Van Thu streets. It’s a fairly large pharmacy with many employees. The pharmacy has several branches, all located on Hai Ba Trung street. (Translated)

4. Watsons Vietnam

Website: https://www.watsons.vn/

Address: 126 Đ. Hồng Bàng, Phường 12, Quận 5, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh

Contact: +84971178974

Hours: Mon – Sun 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM

Watsons is the ultimate destination for anyone who loves high-quality international health and beauty products. Located mostly in premium shopping malls, these stores offer a high-end shopping experience that feels very familiar to Westerners.

The shopping experience is great here, since the stores are well-lit and perfectly organized. Browsing for vitamins or skincare even became enjoyable, but I did notice that their imported items are priced higher than at local neighborhood pharmacies.

Their own-brand products are worth a mention, as these are surprisingly good quality and very affordable. I also appreciate their mobile app that links offline and online shopping points seamlessly.

The main drawback, however, is that they focus more on beauty and wellness than on heavy-duty prescription drugs. Nonetheless, it’s a reliable spot if you’re looking for health supplements and premium personal care.

Pros

  • Authentic international health imports
  • Premium and organized store environment
  • Exclusive skincare and vitamin brands
  • Seamless mobile app integration

Cons

  • Focuses more on beauty products than medicine
  • Higher price points for imports
  • Mostly located in major shopping malls

Customer Reviews

The shopping experience service here is very dedicated. Today, when I went shopping, there were many promotions for customers. I really liked it. Next time I have the opportunity to eat here, I will come back again. (Translated) Phuong Mai Google Reviews

I got a great deal on a blindbox at the grand opening today. I walked into Parkson Hung Vuong, went straight up the elevator, and Watsons was right there. The store is bright, clean, and has lots of promotions. Overall, I love it. (Translated) Ngọc Phan Google Reviews

5. Medicare Pharmacy Vietnam

medicare-pharmacy-vietnam

Website: https://medicare.vn/

Address: 161 Võ Nguyên Giáp, Thảo Điền, Thủ Đức, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh 7000

Contact: +84 28 7308 7318

Hours: Mon – Sun 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Medicare was one of the first modern health and beauty retailers in the country and remains a favorite for budget-conscious shoppers.  You can always find a Medicare branch in high-traffic areas or tucked inside popular supermarkets.

For those looking for daily essentials, they’re a convenient go-to. They offer a great mix of everyday health supplies, cosmetics, and household hygiene products all under one roof.

Their “Buy One Get One” deals and seasonal sales are always worth checking out. I also love their Medicare-branded items like basic bandages and cotton pads, which are must-buys.

However, the atmosphere is very retail-heavy, so it might not be the best place for a focused consultation with a pharmacist. Some of their smaller locations focus much more on toiletries and makeup than on actual prescription counters.

Pros

  • Frequent BOGO and seasonal deals
  • Convenient supermarket-based locations
  • Affordable, high-quality private label
  • Established and trusted since 2001

Cons

  • Not for in-depth medical consultations
  • Prescription stock can be limited
  • Retail-heavy atmosphere
