This place is a masterpiece
This place, which is Ho Chi Minh City Opera, is an architectural masterpiece. I brought tickets to a show. I couldn’t film the show but it was amazingly good. They told us to come an hour earlier for a free short tour and they talked about how it was built. After that, they gave us a lemon peach tea. It was super delicious. You should totally check this place out.

Great experience
I was unsure if I would enjoy a puppet show, but I decided to give it a try since it is recommended as a top attraction in Hanoi. It was very entertaining! The music is wonderful, the puppeteers do an amazing job, and it’s visually captivating. I didn’t need to know the words to appreciate the stories played out by the puppets. I recognized some of the folk tales in the scenes that our walking tour guide had told us the day before, so it made it even more enjoyable. I highly recommend getting tickets in person when you arrive in town.

Breathtaking, mesmerizing, impeccable – words fail
A very special ‘must-see’ activity in Hoi An. There is a cast of a few hundred people, magnificent lighting and costuming as well as rehearsed movement, coordination and choreography. The show also takes advantage of creative set design including a large ship with huge sails that are utilized for video as well as colourful ‘row housing’, bursts of flame around the lake perimeter – and fireworks to end with.

Loved the scenography
The best performance I have seen in a while. It is a must in Hanoi. Artists are professional, music is mesmerising (20 different instruments!). And I loved the scenography made from bamboo, just right on the scene during the performance.

Glad I checked it out
Sometimes going down the wrong street is just the beginning of something great. Jumped into a coffee shop for some respite from the heat and a Saigon Coffee. Watched the Theater from across the road and visited after a little second-hand cigarette smoke. A great little theater, and so a tip, you can pay outside for what you can afford. The Theater has some great displayed costumes, weapons, and masks. I watched the Lune production Lang Toi (My Village), honestly, the best show of seen on this side of a Movie, TV, or Theater Screen. The timing, show, and location couldn’t have been better.
