You can elevate your coffee experience by joining their workshops and tasting sessions.

Là Việt’s coffee is made from premium Arabica beans sourced locally, offering multiple options, including Vietnamese iced coffee, cappuccino, cold brew, and so on.

In addition to the coffee, the food selection features a mix of sweet and savory Western-style breakfast, sandwiches, waffles, and other desserts. You can also grab some of their retail items, like coffee beans, to take home.

Pros

  • Premium coffee beans
  • Café + retail + roasting
  • Decent space for leisure and work
  • Great food and coffee selection
  • Nice ambiance

Cons

  • It can get busy and chaotic at certain hours

Enjoyable experience

“Extremely friendly and helpful staff, some of whom speak English. Seriously cosy, barn-type of vibe. One is able to order coffee to drink, as well as purchase 3in1 sachets of various coffee flavours. A variety of food is also available on a detailed menu. The restaurant is VERY clean too. Thank you for an incredibly enjoyable experience.”

There are a lot of food choices here at an affordable price, but with generous servings. The grilled pork cardamom & stir-fried beef with onion & mushroom are both delicious. The restaurant is spacious and cozy with a mountain view. Next time will try their coffee and desserts.”

“Just when I am craving for an English breakfast, as I had too many pho in the past few days 🤣, I found this cafe! Matcha is good, the meal was good, and the pricing is decent as well. The best part is still the view.”

Hoi An can be busy and swarmed by tourists, but believe it or not, there’s a place in town that can offer a peaceful and scenic atmosphere by the beach — just like the Sound of Silence Coffee Shop.

The café lives up to its name: it’s cozy, quiet, and just a casual spot. The lush greenery and beachfront setting make the perfect spot for some moments of calm and disconnection. Plus, it’s pet-friendly!

To make things even better, they serve excellent drinks and food options. The hand-drip coffee, in particular, is popular for its quality, given that the beans come from origins like Ethiopia and Vietnam. There are local favorites like coconut and salt coffee as well.

For food, you’ll get to choose from Western-style breakfast and Vietnamese dishes, pastries, and desserts.

If you’re bringing some work with you, you can choose the indoor table since they have a charging outlet and fast Wi-Fi. If you prefer a little sun, they have sunbeds and beach huts for the outdoor tables.

However, being a seaside location also means there are minor discomforts, most especially if you’re dining outdoors (cigarette smoke, humidity, foot traffic, etc.)

Pros

  • Beachfront location
  • Great for working (fast Wi-Fi, charging outlets)
  • Indoor and outdoor options
  • Affordable prices
  • Calm and relaxing atmosphere
  • Great food and drink selection

Cons

  • Outdoor conditions
  • Closes early (7 PM)

Beautiful

Very beautiful coffee shop with cozy Indoor seating as well as seats directly facing the beach. We had the coconut coffee, and, it was probably the best coconut coffee we’ve ever had! The coconut cream they pour onto the robusta Espresso shot is freshly made, and they even serve you a glass of coconut water as accompaniment. The highlight of the coffee shop for me was the view from the top overlooking the beach! Definitely give it a go when you want to treat yourself to a fancy coffee.”

Highly recommended!

“The stunning ocean view creates a relaxing and picturesque atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or catching up with friends. The sound of waves and the gentle sea breeze make the experience even more delightful. The drink is nice, I am not overly focused on drinks coz I am not a coffee enthusiast. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring great service. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing afternoon break or a peachful sunrise spot, this café is a must-visit.”

4. Hidden Gem Café – Hà Nội

Address: 1 Hàng Mắm, Phố cổ Hà Nội, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội

Phone: +84962011540

Business hours: Monday to Sunday, 7 AM–10 PM

The Hidden Gem isn’t only famous for its coffee, but also for its charming and creative interiors. This multi-story café is decorated with recycled materials. For example, the tables are made from motorbike tires, and the seats are fashioned from an old minivan.

Even the “chandeliers” are made from old plastic bottles.

It might look rough and slightly industrial, but the food and drinks here are unbeatable. Hidden Gem is popular for its Vietnamese coffee, including the Hà Nội classic egg coffee and coconut coffee.

The food menu leans more toward Vietnamese dishes, mostly breakfast items and light snacks, including spring rolls, bánh mì, and salads.

Overall, Hidden Gem is a great place to relax and work. There are multiple tables throughout the three floors, and the WiFi is also strong. There’s no air conditioning, but it’s mostly open air, and there are a lot of fans to keep the place cool.

They weren’t joking about the name because this café is literally hard to find. You’ll have to ask around a lot and look for signs. Once you notice the dragonflies made of recycled bottles, you’re on the right track.

Pros

  • Creative interiors (eco-themed)
  • Multi-story
  • Affordable prices
  • Quiet location
  • Great food and drinks selection
  • Great for leisure and work

Cons

  • Can be a challenge to find

Clever idea

“We visited here twice while in Hanoi. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty. We had egg coffee, salt coffee, hot and iced, and coconut coffee, iced and blended. All of the coffee was strong and full-bodied. My favourite was the coconut coffee blend. The venue’s dining area is set over 3 floors with so many small, different areas to sit, which makes the atmosphere fantastic. All of the furniture and Decor is made of repurposed and recycled items and is so clever.”

Hands down

After following up with social media recommendations, we landed at this place for breakfast, & we loved this place, hands down. This is quite a place which has been tastefully curated using various recycled materials & the decor is awesome to say the least. The food here surpasses expectations. We loved the Chicken Banh Mie, which was delicious, fresh, and with fluffy bread. The watermelon juice tasted equally good. Service was fast & responsive.”

There are lots of seating options, including the balcony on the second floor and a play area with cards and board games.

The menu includes various coffees, teas, juices, and alcoholic drinks. For the food, the café serves breakfast, desserts, and snacks.
