The 5 Best Orthopedic Specialist Clinics in Vietnam That Passed Our Quality Checks
Dealing with a sudden sports injury or chronic joint pain is stressful. For Vietnamese residents seeking premium care and expats navigating a new healthcare system, finding reliable medical support is critical.
We all want the same thing: accurate diagnosis and effective recovery without unnecessary delays.
The following guide cuts through the noise to highlight the best orthopedic specialist clinics in Vietnam.
These reviews focus on international standards, language accessibility, and patient care to help you decide if you can treat your injury locally or need to look further afield.
How much does orthopedic care cost in Vietnam?
Vietnam offers a wide spectrum of pricing for orthopedic care, largely defined by the gap between public institutions and private international hospitals.
Patients visiting top-tier international facilities should budget between 1,500,000 VND and 3,500,000 VND ($60–$140 USD) for an initial specialist consultation.
Always request a detailed quote beforehand, as complex cases may require additional diagnostic fees.
Diagnostic imaging remains affordable compared to Western standards; a standard MRI typically ranges from 3,000,000 VND to 7,000,000 VND ($120–$280 USD).
For surgical interventions, costs rise significantly. An ACL reconstruction package generally starts around $3,000 USD, while major joint replacements often fall between $8,000 and $15,000 USD.
Although these figures represent a fraction of US healthcare costs, they are substantial compared to local public options. Review your insurance coverage carefully to ensure these private rates are fully reimbursable.
1. Family Medical Practice (Hanoi)

Website: Family Medical Practice
Address: 298i Kim Ma, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi
Contact: 024 3843 0748 and 0944 431 919 (WhatsApp, Zalo)
Hours: Daily 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM (By Appointment Only), Available 24/7 for Emergencies
Living in Hanoi, I’ve learned that when an injury hits, efficiency matters most.
I recommend Family Medical Practice (FMP) for immediate care that meets high standards. Their clear communication mirrors the protocols found in Western clinics.
What I like most is how this clinic acts as a comprehensive medical hub. On a recent visit for a severe ankle sprain, I managed to get a consultation, X-rays, and medication in a single trip.
Doctors here treat sports injuries and manage complex fractures with a level of speed and organization that stands out compared to crowded public facilities.
However, I have to be honest about the cost. FMP is definitely one of the pricier options in town. If you don’t have comprehensive health insurance, the final bill might come as a shock.
Also, while they excel at trauma management, keep in mind that extremely complex reconstructive surgeries might still need to be referred out to larger regional hubs.
Customer Reviews:
This is where you should go
2 days into my tour to Vietnam started feeling pain in my shoulder. Asked the guide for recommendations and she suggested this medical center.
It was amazing. Within an hour, I saw a GP then an orthopedic, got an X ray and ultrasound. l got diagnosed, got medication and was released!!
Throughout the process, the staff/caregivers were attentive, supper nice and most importantly, professional.
I also asked to be sent the diagnosis and imaging results via email which they did.
While I would not recommend anyone to need medical help, if you do need such a place in Hanoi, this is where you should go.

A private hospital that caters towards foreigners
This is a good hospital. I came for a broken bone and the staff was kind and professional. They also spoke English well. But so you are aware, this a private hospital that caters towards foreigners. So if you don’t have insurance you shouldn’t go here because the prices are much higher then what you would pay at a local public hospital. If you don’t have insurance I recommend going to Viet Duc hospital instead. I paid 600$ for something here that would have only costed me only 100$ if I went to Viet Duc.

2. Hanoi French Hospital (HFH)

Website: Hanoi French Hospital
Address: 1 Phuong Mai Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi
Contact: (084-024) 3577 1100 (General Line & Appointments)
Hours: Appointment Preferred, Available 24/7 for Emergencies
Walking into Hanoi French Hospital (HFH) feels distinct from many other local options. It brings a European standard of healthcare to Northern Vietnam that many of us in the community really appreciate when we want an alternative to the public system.
Patients seeking a facility that rigidly follows Western protocols will find this is their best bet in Hanoi. The sterilized environment and attentive patient care here reflect high standards.
Another standout feature is their integrated team of French and Vietnamese specialists who collaborate on cases. I think this provides a depth of language expertise that is hard to match elsewhere in the city.
While clinical care meets high standards, the administrative side often lags. The billing and insurance claim processes feel slow and rigid compared to faster alternatives.
You might find yourself waiting longer for paperwork to be processed than for the actual doctor’s appointment.
Customer Reviews:
Cannot believe the high quality, exceptional care I received.
Less than a month ago, I broke my ankle in Mai Chau, Vietnam. It was recommended that I go to the Hanoi French Hospital for care which I did a few days later.
I still cannot believe the high quality, exceptional care I received.
Within 24 hours of arriving in the Emergency Room, my multi-fractured ankle was diagnosed, follow-up exams done, met the ER doctor and my Orthopedic Surgeon, with surgery scheduled for the next morning.
In less than an hour, I was comfortably settled in my hospital room with an IV in my arm meeting the surgeon for a second time as he explained the details of my upcoming surgery.

3. FV Hospital Bone & Joint Centre

Website: FV Hospital
Address: 6 Nguyen Luong Bang St., Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: 028 3511 3333
Hours: By Appointment Only, Available 24/7 for Emergencies
Located in Ho Chi Minh City, FV Hospital (JCI-accredited) is a go-to for southern orthopedic care, with its Bone & Joint Centre offering advanced techniques like cartilage repair.
Their consistent success with these complex surgeries draws patients from across the region.
For many locals who consider flying to Singapore or Bangkok for major surgeries, FV offers a compelling reason to stay in Vietnam for treatment instead.
That said, their popularity comes with a drawback. The hospital can get incredibly busy, sometimes leading to shorter consultation times with doctors who are rushing to see a high volume of patients.
You may occasionally feel a bit like a number in a long line rather than receiving a personalized, boutique experience.
Customer Reviews:
If you’re facing orthopedic issues, look no further
I would like to thank FV team for their professionalism.
A special shoutout to Dr. Phat, Head of Orthopedics, for his expertise and his ability to guide patients from A to Z. You are truly a life changer! If you’re facing orthopedic issues, look no further – you can confidently place your health in Dr Phat’s hands.
Last but not least, my sincere thanks to the Anesthetics team, Nurses (both day and night shift), and Physiotherapists for their exceptional care and support.

4. Sports Medic (Phòng Khám Sports Medic)

Website: Sports Medic
Address: 285/44 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: 0918 010 899
Hours: Mon-Sat 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM (By Appointment Only)
Sports Medic in Ho Chi Minh City offers a refreshing change of pace from the large hospitals on this list.
Their biggest strength lies in their personalized, conservative care model, which aims to get athletes back on track without going under the knife immediately.
The facility operates as a high-end athletic performance center rather than a sterile hospital. You walk into a space designed for movement and recovery, avoiding the cold, clinical atmosphere typical of trauma wards.
I visited the clinic for a nagging rotator cuff issue recently, and the difference in attention was obvious.
The specialist didn’t just rush through the session. They spent 20 minutes manually working on the tightness before even starting the exercises, which is something I really appreciated.
However, the main limitation here is the scope of service. As a specialized clinic rather than a full hospital, they are not the place to go for emergency trauma or complex surgeries requiring general anesthesia.
Their operating hours are also quite limited compared to the 24/7 hospitals.
Customer Reviews:
10/10.
I’ve had issues with both my wrist and my knee. The doctor was amazing and the staff super friendly and helpful. They also were able to communicate or accommodate me as an English speaker. 10/10.

5. American International Hospital (AIH)

Website: https://aih.com.vn/en
Address: No. 6, Bac Nam 3 Street, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: 1900 3399
Hours: Appointment Preferred, Available 24/7 for Emergencies
American International Hospital (AIH) in Ho Chi Minh City is a standout choice for those seeking North American standards in Vietnam.
As one of the newer facilities in town, it has quickly built a reputation for excellence, backed by its JCI accreditation and a strategic collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
The hospital’s design is distinctively modern, creating a professional environment that feels familiar to many Western patients.
Their orthopedic department is anchored by spacious rooms and cutting-edge equipment, supporting surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive procedures, a critical factor for faster recovery times.
However, this premium level of care comes with a matching price tag. AIH is widely considered one of the most expensive options in the market.
While the “no-expense-spared” approach delivers comfort and quality, it is a significant financial commitment for residents without high-tier insurance coverage.
Customer Reviews:
I felt very well taken care of and all went well.
I had a deep cut in my foot which got infected and needed minor surgery to clean out dead infected tissue. I was previously in treatment at one of the western clinics in Thao Dien and was not happy with manners and the skills of the doctors there. I looked around for a different place to do the procedure and got it done by Dr. Bao an orthopedic surgeon at AIH. I felt very well taken care of and all went well. I stayed in for 2 days, the food was great and the team was very kind and empathetic while I was in pain…

World class
