With Bruised Shins and Heavy Sweats, We Found the 5 Best Muay Thai Gyms in Vietnam

Coaching Expertise and Lineage: The person holding the pads dictates your progress. We checked for trainers with authentic fight experience or certified mastery. Proper technique prevents injury and separates real combat training from simple cardio routines.

Facility Quality and Hygiene: You will sweat heavily on the mats, making cleanliness non-negotiable. We inspected the mat maintenance, the density of the heavy bags, and the reliability of modern comforts like hot showers and working air conditioning.

Community and Atmosphere: Heavy bags and weights mean little without the right culture. We looked closely at how current members treat newcomers. Top gyms build supportive environments where fighters push each other forward, actively discouraging intimidating, ego-driven behavior.

Location and Accessibility: Evaluating the daily commute, we prioritized central locations and scenic spots that make the trip to training worth the effort.

Navigating our daily rush hour traffic already feels like a full-contact sport.

But when you want to actually step onto the mats and throw proper strikes, finding the right gym in our own backyard can be a massive headache.

With the local martial arts scene exploding, for every authentic, sweat-drenched camp, there could be three generic fitness centers offering “cardio kickboxing” where you hit pads with the force of a wet noodle.

Hardcore traditional camps satisfy purists, while pristine studios with air conditioning and post-workout juice bars cater to those wanting modern comforts.

I’ve done the legwork (and taken the leg kicks) for you (with bruises no less).

I scouted facilities across the country, spanning the bustling streets of Hanoi down to the coastal breeze of Nha Trang.

These reviews separate the genuine contenders from the pretenders to help you find the best Muay Thai gyms in Vietnam.

How much does Muay Thai training cost in Vietnam?

Training locally fits most budgets, giving you plenty of options depending on your goals. Local, no-frills gyms typically charge between 400,000 and 800,000 VND for a full month of unlimited classes. These spots save you money, though you will sweat through intense workouts without climate control. Modern centers in major cities like Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi charge higher monthly membership fees, usually between 1,500,000 and 2,500,000 VND. These premium commercial gyms provide air conditioning, pristine showers, and top-tier equipment. You can also easily book private one-on-one coaching, which runs from 600,000 to 900,000 VND per hour.

A solid workout
Easy to book through Facebook and WhatsApp with quick replies. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and Yen was a great trainer—really knowledgeable and encouraging. The gym was clean, with fans and air con to keep it comfortable. Gloves and wraps were provided, which was convenient. The session was fun, a solid workout, and I definitely improved my technique. Finished off with a sports massage, which was a great way to wind down. Highly recommend.

The best pad work
Had a private Muay Thai session with Coach Adam Duong who gave me the best pad work! He pushed me to my limit, showed me some great combos, and kindly corrected my technique. There was even a nice stretch/massage during the cool down! Such a great experience at this gym: everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to any tourists visiting Hanoi and looking to get a great workout in!! Go check them out!!

Schedule: Mon-Sat 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Trading concrete walls for a coconut forest, Hoi An Muay Thai provides a stunning open-air setting you rarely find in our crowded urban centers.

Gymgoers are drawn to the authentic Thai-style training led by coaches who have actually battled in prestigious Thai stadiums. You learn the deep roots of the sport with every strike, guided by veterans of the ring.

The inclusive environment quickly turns newcomers into regulars who appreciate a strong community feel.

An added bonus is how you get to breathe in fresh air and take in scenic views while working the pads.

But that open-air design also means training without air conditioning. Our coastal heat and humidity make sessions here absolutely grueling, demanding serious mental toughness as you sweat through the afternoon classes.

Pros

  • Authentic stadium-veteran coaches
  • Scenic open-air coconut forest setting
  • Small classes for personal attention
  • Welcoming community for all levels

Cons

  • No AC means grueling heat
  • Not a large-scale pro camp

  • Mon-Fri 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Nestled in District 2’s Thao Dien, RAM Muay Thai prioritizes well-being over raw aggression.

Stepping inside, you find a modern, air-conditioned sanctuary where heavy bags sit alongside an in-house juice bar built for post-workout recovery.

The energy here thrives on connection. I grabbed a fresh cold-pressed drink after watching a session, and the vibrant social atmosphere immediately drew me in.

Those stepping in here to build fitness make friends quickly and discover a highly welcoming community.  Plus, their clean, boutique facility completely removes the intimidation factor that often keeps newcomers away from the mats.

Pros

  • Welcoming, local community
  • Modern air-conditioned facility
  • Structured daily pad work

Cons

  • Premium pricing

Feels more like a community than just a gym
RAM Muay Thai feels more like a community than just a gym. From the moment you walk in, Ms. Dung makes you feel right at home. It’s perfect if you are intimidated by big gyms because everyone here is so supportive. The convenience is amazing too—they have everything from clean wraps to a smoothie bar. It’s become my favorite part of the day!

Amazing place to learn Muay Thai
RAM gym is an amazing place to learn Muay Thai. Do not be intimidated if you are new, as they will separate new people and are very caring to teach new people and go slow at your own pace.

It was my first class here, and by class 5 I feel I have improved so much. Great cardio, and instructors have many years of experience. Fun energy and environment.

4. SILVERBACK MMA HQ

Website: https://www.silverbackmmavn.com/

Address: 168 Van Tien Dung Street (A2), VCN Phuoc Hai, Nha Trang

Contact: 0906 331 991 | 037 3607 006 | [email protected]

Schedule: Mon-Sat 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

At Silverback Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Headquarters in Nha Trang, National Team athletes and Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) champions directly lead the classes.

Their pro curriculum delivers rigorous training with varied combat sports. Strikers naturally flow into grappling sessions, tying different disciplines together under one roof.

Their spacious, modern facility sees absolute novices lacing up gloves right next to seasoned professionals preparing for the cage.

Some things for consideration: since the gym covers multiple fighting styles, purists will not find a dedicated, traditional Muay Thai camp here.

Coaches adapt strikes specifically for MMA rather than pure Thai rules, meaning you skip the cultural rituals and deep, clinch-heavy rounds.

Yet for those wanting high-level coaching and cross-training in a pristine coastal setting, get exactly what they show up for.

Pros

  • National Team and ADCC champion coaches
  • Cross-training across combat disciplines
  • Spacious, modern training facility
  • Welcomes absolute novices and seasoned pros

Cons

  • No traditional Muay Thai rituals
  • Strikes are adapted for MMA rules
  • Lacks a pure, dedicated Thai camp vibe

5. MMA GYM ĐÀ NẴNG

Website: https://mmagymdanang.com/

Address: K38a/3 Nguyen Huu Tho, Hai Chau, Da Nang

Contact: 090 999 5841 | [email protected]

Schedule:

Mon-Sat 6:00 AM – 8:30 PM

Sun 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

At MMA Gym Đà Nẵng, training focuses on balancing your physique, health, and spirit.

Here, you can see professional national athletes run the floor, pushing casual members through the same rigorous drills they use to prepare for competition.

Stepping onto the mats here immediately sharpens your overall fight IQ.

Positioned right in the center of Hai Chau District, the facility saves trainees the long commute to the city outskirts.

What’s great here is that you can jump into high-energy group classes or book one-on-one sessions in a pristine, modern environment.

Because the curriculum spans Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), boxing, and kickfit, the coaching splits its focus across multiple combat sports. That said, those seeking deep, singular cultural immersion might find the specific Muay Thai instruction less concentrated than at a dedicated Thai camp.

For those wanting comprehensive cross-training and spotless facilities, however, this central hub guarantees a rigorous daily workout.

Pros

  • Professional national athlete coaches
  • Cross-training in MMA and boxing
  • Pristine, hygiene-focused environment
  • Flexible personal or group classes

Cons

  • Split focus across multiple combat sports
  • Lacks traditional Thai cultural immersion
