The 5 Best Saunas in Hanoi for a Relaxing Escape

Cleanliness and Atmosphere: I checked how clean, tidy, and peaceful each facility is for a safe, comfortable visit. A great venue offers a quiet escape from the noisy city streets so you can fully unwind.

Staff Expertise: I looked closely at the training, skills, and certifications of each team. Highly skilled staff make a real difference in the quality of your relaxation.

Therapeutic Variety: I weighed the different heat rooms, saunas, and traditional treatments on offer. Options like herbal steam rooms or salt stone rooms add real value to your visit.

Location and Access: I prioritized spots that are easy to find and reach for tourists and busy locals alike. Central locations save you time and travel hassle for a quick wellness break.

Pricing and Value: I compared standalone costs against the length and quality of the packages offered. This makes sure you get fair rates and know what's included before you book.

Hanoi is an amazing city to explore, but the busy streets can tire you out fast. After walking through the chaotic Old Quarter all day, your body deserves a proper break.

Well, a good sauna in Hanoi is the perfect way to sweat out the fatigue, relax your muscles, and clear your mind after a long day.

A relaxing sweat session also pairs well with other self-care stops around the city, whether you’re recovering after a fresh piece from one of Hanoi’s best tattoo studios or just unwinding after a long week.

So, to help you escape the noise and find a peaceful moment of deep relaxation, I rounded up the top local spots for heat therapy and great wellness experiences.

How much does a sauna cost in Hanoi?

A sauna in Hanoi typically starts around 210,000 VND for a standalone session, while multi-hour spa packages with a sauna run from about 1,800,000 VND ($75) and up.

Sauna OptionTypical Price
Standalone sauna sessionAround 210,000 VND

Serene Spa Hanoi operates out of a beautiful, ancient 30-year-old house that blends historic community style with modern luxury. Finding a quiet escape in the center of the busy Old Quarter is easy at this lovely boutique spa.

I immediately fell in love with the peaceful boutique design, with original teak floorboards and intricate carvings. It makes for a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing.

The team here follows a holistic Vietnamese philosophy focused on movement and deep breathing. Plus, the therapists are certified by the Ministry of Health after a strict 300-hour training course.

When I tried the dry sauna at their Signature branch, the intense heat felt wonderful and came with a tasty detox drink.

Just be aware that the sauna is available only at one branch, and your usage time is capped at 30 minutes. Plan accordingly.

Pros

  • Dry sauna for detoxification
  • Certified by Ministry of Health
  • Natural products and detox drinks
  • Central Old Quarter location

Cons

  • Restricted to one branch location
  • Short 30-minute session limit

A serene, high-class setting

Leo met us in the reception of the spa which  presented a serene setting and exuded a high class atmosphere. The sauna experience was well arranged, modern and clean. A thoughtful gesture of providing a cold bottles of water with the session really rounded out a good relaxing sweat from the sauna!

La Spa Hàng Bè stands out for its high international standards and strong customer satisfaction. I like how this spa offers concept-driven packages that combine local organic ingredients with ancient Himalayan salt crystals.

The right place to pamper yourself

If you want to pamper yourself this is the right place in Hanoi. Luxury touch, soothing atmosphere and lovely girls. I enjoyed the Harmony package (hot stone massage + hair spa) and facial. I’ve asked for the sauna and they offered me complementary. They give bathrobe, towels, keep your feet warm with foot heaters…all the details are amazing. And 20% discount for 9-12pm. Highly recommended!

The best sauna experience

Came to just use the sauna and would say that it was the best sauna experience – so luxe! Refreshments on arrival, during and after the sauna session. Robes were provided for us as well. For the price – well worth the visit and will definitely be back!!

Address: 18 Hang Manh, Hoan Kiem

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Hanoi Old Quarter Spa sits right next to major landmarks like beautiful Hoàn Kiếm Lake, which makes it highly accessible for tourists. This place offers an awesome mix of local heritage and custom herbal therapies that soothe your muscles.

This place actually came to my radar when a close friend kept raving about her peaceful sauna session. Aside from being ultra-clean, the facilities completely block out the chaotic street noise.

I also like that they bundle their sauna features neatly inside a premium couples package rather than offering a standalone public bathhouse. This setup gives you great comfort without the steep prices of luxury hotel spas.

The catch is that the compact cabins only hold two people, and the narrow vertical stairs can be quite steep.

On the bright side, the team is fluent in English, so you can easily customize your treatment pressure to get exactly what your body needs. They even offer lovely happy-hour perks for early guests, so be sure to ask about them!

Pros

  • Bundled couple packages
  • Affordable mid-range rates
  • Soundproofed, clean spaces
  • Near major tourist landmarks

Cons

  • Small cabins and steep stairs

If it was your first time they offer you a 50% discount 👌. I think it was like an apartment building,so you just go up to the third floor. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The best spa I’ve seen

The best Spa I’ve seen. 2 main areas with baths and hot stones, saunas, snow rooms etc. Very attentive staff meets and leads you to each zone🤍 The staff is always nearby, monitors compliance with the rules of stay in the complex and will always answer questions. In addition to the spa zone itself, there is an opportunity to purchase a massage according to the price list. Also very nice discount for the first visit. Definitely highly recommend
