The 5 Best Gyms in Hanoi for Every Type of Workout

Equipment: We checked the variety, age, and upkeep of the machines and free weights. A good gym needs reliable gear for both heavy lifting and focused isolation work.

Classes: We looked at how often group sessions run and how varied they are. Great classes come down to energetic instructors and a space that welcomes every fitness level.

Pricing: We looked past the sticker price to the real value in memberships and day passes. Clear pricing and flexible terms make for a much less stressful sign-up.

Trainers: We weighed how qualified and approachable the coaching staff are. The best trainers focus on your form and progress instead of pushing a sale.

Customer Feedback: We read up on the vibe, cleanliness, and sense of community at each spot. A supportive, uncrowded room makes it far easier to keep showing up.

Finding the best gym in Hanoi shouldn’t feel like a heavy lift, but with the city’s fitness scene booming, the choices can get overwhelming fast.

As a long-time fitness fan and Hanoi local, I treat the gym as one piece of a bigger self-care routine, right alongside a session at one of the top laser hair removal clinics in Vietnam

I’ve trained everywhere from sweaty neighborhood weight rooms to high-end clubs with eucalyptus-scented towels.

So I put together this guide based on what actually matters on the gym floor, for beginners and seasoned lifters alike. Here are my top picks for where Hanoi goes to get real results.

How much does a gym membership cost in Hanoi?

A gym membership in Hanoi typically costs between ₫200,000 and ₫2,500,000 per month, depending on the tier you pick, from a basic local spot to a premium club.

Gym TierMonthly Cost (VND)
Basic local gyms₫200,000 – ₫500,000
Mid-range and hotel gyms₫500,000 – ₫1,500,000
Premium gyms₫1,500,000 – ₫2,500,000 and up

1. California Fitness & Yoga Hàng Da

Address: Floor 4, Hàng Da Plaza, 1 P. Hàng Da, Hoàn Kiếm

Contact: (+84 28) 7107 7889 | 1800 6995 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

I dropped into California Fitness & Yoga after a friend raved about their yoga program, and the scale of the place really is something.

The whole space feels more like a resort than a gym, with polished wellness areas. With over 100 group classes a week, it’s easy to find a session that fits a tight schedule.

The yoga program is a big draw, with experienced instructors brought in from India, and the personal trainers are certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) with a real focus on your progress.

That said, all that polish comes with a premium price tag that won’t fit every budget. The trainers also seem to carry steep sales targets, so a few interactions can feel a little transactional.

Pros

  • Resort-style facilities and design
  • NASM-certified personal trainers
  • Separated training zones
  • Lively, high-energy atmosphere

Cons

  • High premium membership costs
  • Some interactions with trainers can feel transactional

Great gym, worth the fair price

I’m not sure about why there are so many bad reviews about price (looks like most of them are old). I have used gyms around the world, and you get what you pay for. Cheap prices mean old and broken. This is a great gym, with plenty of well maintained machines as well as free weights, filtered water, lockers, showers, sauna, and even towel service (for an extra charge). I got what I felt was great service at what I think is a fairly reasonable price.

Outstanding facilities and amazing MMA training

At first, I was surprised by the high daily pass fee (420k VND), but once I entered, I understood why. This gym is outstanding! It has state-of-the-art machines, a great pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and a super friendly staff. The protein bar is a nice touch, and the MMA training area is top-notch. I opted for an additional 1-hour private MMA training session for 1 million VND, and it was worth every dong. My trainer, Daisy, was fantastic. She concluded the session with a private stretching session that felt like a full 30-minute physiotherapy treatment. Just amazing. Highly recommend this place!

2. MK Fitness

Address: 72-74 P. Hàng Buồm, Phố cổ, Hoàn Kiếm

Contact: +84 828 827 274 | [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM; hotline available 24/7

Tucked into a hotel basement in the Old Quarter, MK Fitness is a quiet, focused spot.

I noticed how present their instructors are, always ready to spot a lift or fix your form.

If you happen to be staying in one of the hotel’s premium suites, access is free, and the early 5:30 AM open time is perfect for early risers.

Just keep in mind that they enforce strict age rules and bars young children entirely. On top of that, management reserves the right to pause services without notice, which can be a hassle if you train on a rigid schedule.

Pros

  • Brand-new, well-kept equipment
  • Early 5:30 AM opening
  • Quiet, low-key environment
  • Hands-on, helpful staff

Cons

  • Strict ban on young children
  • Possible unannounced service pauses

Modern gym with well-maintained equipment

Trained upper body in here on a Wednesday afternoon. It wasn’t too busy and we managed to get on all the equipment first time without waiting. The gym is very modern with a broad selection of both free weights and machines. It’s nice and clean and the equipment is well looked after / regularly maintained. They provide a locker key when you pay for entry. We paid VND175,000 each for a day pass.

Clean, modern, variety of offerings

Loved this gym while in Hanoi! They have a little bit of everything; free weights, machines, boxing, yoga, it’s all here! The space was a bit small, but everything was very clean and all the machines were modern and well kept. If you’re looking for something in the old quarter, this is it. The day pass was 175,000vnd which is a better price than I found for many of the gyms around. I’d recommend coming mid day as it will be less crowded, other than that it’s perfect!

3. MVP Fitness Hanoi Aqua Central

Website: mvpfitness.vn

Address: Hanoi Aqua Central Building, 44 Yên Phụ, Ba Đình

Contact: 090 433 2233 | [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM

MVP Fitness stands out with its huge 1,000-square-meter layout, which gives you plenty of room to breathe even during a heavy lifting session.

The headline feature is the four-season wave pool, which uses salt electrolysis so you can swim comfortably year-round, no matter the weather.

They didn’t cut corners on the gym floor either, stocking it with imported machines from brands like Matrix and Impulse.

The community vibe is strong too, with regular social events and more than 25 weekly classes, including high-energy Zumba and mixed martial arts (MMA) sessions.

On the downside, MVP only has locations in Hanoi, so your membership won’t travel with you. The sheer size also pulls a big crowd, which means real wait times for popular machines during the evening rush.

Pros

  • Spacious 1,000-square-meter floor
  • Year-round salt-electrolysis pool
  • Over 25 classes each week
  • Imported Matrix and Impulse machines

Cons

  • Your membership won’t travel with you
  • Crowded floor during peak hours

Spacious, modern gym with diverse equipment

Spacious gym, reasonable equipment arrangement, creating a comfortable feeling when exercising. Modern, clean, and diverse machines, suitable for many types of people. Bright LED lighting system, creating a dynamic space. Stylish decoration. Clean floor. ps: The receptionist named Van is quite lovely.

Top-notch facilities and inspiring instructor

I recently started my fitness journey at this gym, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience! The facilities are top-notch, offering everything I need to reach my fitness goals. The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s a great variety of machines and weights to choose from. What truly sets this gym apart, though, is the incredible instructor, Manh. He has been an absolute game-changer for me. His kindness and patience make every session enjoyable and motivating. Manh takes the time to understand my goals and offers personalized guidance, which has been instrumental in helping me stay on track.

Address: 54A Đ. Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Láng

Contact: +84 24 7307 8889 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

I checked out Elite Fitness when I wanted to shake up my routine, and the place is packed with training options you rarely see elsewhere.

There’s a full indoor climbing wall that’s brilliant for building core strength, plus a regulation boxing ring right on the floor.

They also have an isolated therapy room that’s a lifesaver for quiet, post-workout stretching, and the long-term loyalty discounts are substantial. The zero-interest installment plans make those longer commitments a lot easier to manage, too.

Unfortunately, the class booking system is rigid, so if you don’t pre-register online, you can’t join. You also have to watch the clock, since Elite Fitness caps individual floor workouts at 1.5 hours to keep the crowd moving.

Pros

  • Indoor climbing wall and boxing ring
  • Large multi-year loyalty discounts
  • Quiet, dedicated therapy room
  • Zero-interest installment plans

Cons

  • Mandatory online class booking
  • Strict 1.5-hour workout limit

Top Hanoi club with great management

The fitness market might be saturated but Elite is still one of the top ones, not compared to private gym. This club itself can be the best club in Hanoi along with Xuan Dieu club, dynamic energetic vibes, not too many dramas and members are polite and comfortable rather than other places. They also have good operations. Even this place is busy all the time, during peak hours things can be happened anytime but they always have a way to manage properly.

Great facilities and lessons, worth the money

Great gym, great process from subscription to facilities. Yoga and fitness lessons great. As an expat I recommend it. Price wise is about 50 usd a month. More expensive than other gyms but it packs a bunch of stuff. Definitely worth the money. Stay off the peaks though if you can, it can get pretty crowded at times.

5. LEEFIT Private Gym

Website: leefit.com.vn

Address: No. 4, Phan Huy Ìch Lane, Hoàn Kiếm

Contact: 098 868 5999 | [email protected]

Hours: Daily, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM

If the chaotic energy of big commercial chains isn’t for you, LEEFIT is a breath of fresh air. It runs strictly as a private personal training space, leaning into a relaxed, boutique feel.

The open-concept layout is intentional, giving you room to focus on your form instead of dodging other gym-goers.

The coaching staff is impressive too, including well-known fitness personalities who specialize in fat loss and muscle building.

There’s a free digital trial session so you can test the waters first. That low-pressure trial makes it an easy place to start if you’re new to one-on-one coaching.

The main drawback is the location. You walk down a narrow alley that leaves you exposed when it rains, and there’s a steady hum from the building’s water pumps that may bug you if you like total quiet while lifting.

Pros

  • Free digital trial session
  • Experienced specialist coaches
  • Calm, private boutique setting
  • Open seven days a week

Cons

  • Exposed alleyway entrance
  • Constant water-pump noise

Comfortable, clean environment with warm atmosphere

A local private gym in Hoan Kiem District. Comfortable and clean environment, warm atmostphere from the decoration, staffs and PTs. Leefit is in an alley but not that difficult to find. Diverse combos for short and long term goal. Not for solo gymers tho. Anw highly recommend.

Incredible coach and top-notch clean gym

I haven’t been going to the gym for long, but I’m absolutely in love with LEEFIT! The gym is clean, the equipment is top-notch, and the atmosphere is super chill. The staff are friendly and everyone is enthusiastic and helpful, I didn’t feel awkward at all like I used to. Especially my coach, who is super dedicated, cute, and just the right amount of playful. No matter how lazy or tired I am, I can’t escape his incredibly gentle yet highly effective motivational gaze!
