Finding the best fine dining restaurant in Hanoi can be overwhelming because the city’s food scene is bursting with options.
You might want a romantic spot for a date night or an upscale venue to impress your clients. Sometimes you simply want to taste how local flavors meet global cooking styles.
Hanoi has it all, but you should know where to spend your cash. We’ve done some research and picked restaurants that deliver incredible meals. These are places with great atmospheres and flavors you will remember for a long time.

| Dining Option | Cost Range (VND) |

1. T.U.N.G Dining

- Website: https://www.tungdining.com/
- Address: 2C Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District
- Contact: 859 933 970 | [email protected]
- Hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 06:00 PM – 11:00 PM
If you hate stiff, stuffy dining rooms, a unique spot on Quang Trung Street completely ditches those formal vibes. The name T.U.N.G stands for Twisted, Unique, Natural, Gastronomic, which serves as their blueprint for creating dishes. They offer a cozy, warm atmosphere where you can relax while eating.
The kitchen avoids heavy fats and creams to let pure flavors shine.
My partner and I think they rank among the best fine dining restaurants in the country because of how they elevate humble local ingredients like Hue shrimp paste.
However, you should know about their operational limits before booking. The restaurant has a hard no-kids policy for children under 12. Also, their limited floor space creates major capacity bottlenecks, forcing large groups of twenty or more to rent the entire venue.

Truly a gastronomical journey
An exquisite fine dining experience – we were greeted with warm hospitality from the whole team the moment we walked in. The interior is in a Nordic/Scandinavian modern style which is simple but classy.
We love that each dish comes with a little card that introduces the dish. Each dish is meticulously designed with precision from its flavours to presentation, entwining Vietnamese indigenous ingredients. Truly a gastronomical journey and experience.

There wasn’t a bad bite in the whole meal
A great luxury fine dining experience. The chef prepared each dish to highlight the culture and ingredients of Vietnam. The service was superb. There wasn’t a bad bite in the whole meal. I recommend the beer or wine pairing too. The beers were local crafts and very refreshing.

2. November Restaurant

- Website: https://novemberrestaurant.vn/
- Address: 12th Floor, Le Jardin Haute Couture, 105 Nguyen Truong To, Truc Bach, Ba Dinh, Hanoi
- Contact: 096 229 6911 | [email protected]
- Hours: Monday to Sunday 11:00 AM – 02:00 PM & 05:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Perched high on the twelfth floor of a boutique hotel, November Restaurant’s amazing culinary team blends modern European cooking techniques with native Vietnamese flavors. They make local ingredients the true star of the show.
Their culinary philosophy is inspired by Japanese Kaiseki, so every dish is all about seasonal balance. The curated set menus flow beautifully to tell a specific story during dinner.
You get an elevated lounge experience with views of the Ba Dinh district, too.
However, the building has some physical limitations that might dampen your night. They don’t have any on-site parking, so navigating the heavy traffic outside makes drop-offs tough. On top of that, special promotional rates don’t apply during public holidays.

3. Cloud Nine Restaurant Hanoi

- Website: https://hanoi.cloudninerestaurants.com/
- Address: 9th floor, No. 27 Hang Be St., Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Ward
- Contact: 243 929 0011 or 243 929 0055 | [email protected]
- Hours: Monday to Sunday 6:30 AM – 10 PM
With floor-to-ceiling windows right in the Old Quarter, Cloud Nine Restaurant wraps you in panoramic views of Hoan Kiem Lake.
They offer a beautiful mix of authentic regional Vietnamese dishes and classic European favorites.
A close friend told me the staff goes completely out of their way to handle food allergies directly with the kitchen. They really nail the personalized service.
Plus, the chic interior uses elegant black and white tones to build a classic Indochina vibe.
But the physical layout comes with a few annoying downsides. The dining tables are small, so the space feels cramped if you order a large spread.
Also, the open kitchen makes peak hours quite noisy, and the lack of a waiting area makes booking mandatory.

It was a true feast
We were guests at the La Siesta and having tried street food and local recommended eateries felt like some local fine dining! We had the ‘Soul of Hanoi’ set meal and it was a true feast. The best Pho Bo in Hanoi (out of 3), delicious spring rolls, fish, pork and wine. Highly recommend and congratulations to the whole team!

4. VIET Restaurant Hanoi & Rooftop Bar

- Website: https://vietrestauranthanoi.com/
- Address: 8th Floor – 16 Hang Da Street
- Contact: 243 823 8855 | 345 639 904 | [email protected]
- Hours: Monday to Sunday 02:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Sitting high on the eighth and ninth floors of the JM Marvel Hotel, VIET Restaurant Hanoi & Rooftop Bar offers killer rooftop views of the city skyline. You can enjoy a cozy dinner by the large windows, then pop up to the sky bar for drinks under the stars.
They serve up traditional local food with a creative, modern spin.
While my friends usually look for local Italian restaurants when traveling, we decided to try this upscale venue instead. The separate, dedicated wine and beverage menus perfectly match the expectations of a high-end crowd.
However, you can’t drop by for lunch because they don’t open until mid-afternoon. The narrow streets of the Old Quarter also bring heavy traffic during peak hours. Since the hotel lacks on-site parking, finding a spot for your car is also a bottleneck.

All of the food we got was good
Charming fine dining on an upper floor of a hotel in Hanoi. Near the fun atmosphere of the lake in Old Quarter, which is especially great on weekends when the area surrounding the lake is closed to car and scooter traffic. Atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice! Lighting and decor are charming and lovely! Really tasty and loaded Garden Salad. All of the food we got was good. Service was excellent. Henry waited on us with such attentiveness and kindness!

5. Vien Dining

- Website: https://viendining.vn/
- Address: No.3 Bà Triệu alley, Lê đại Hành ward, Hai Bà Trưng district
- Contact: 388 451 919 | [email protected]
- Hours: Tuesday to Sunday Lunch: 11:30 AM – 02:30 PM, Dinner: 06:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Honoring local roots while pushing modern boundaries is what makes this hidden gem in the Hai Ba Trung district stand out.
Vien Dining uses the concept of a red thread to connect different chapters of flavors across their story-driven tasting menus. Every dish is served on unique, handcrafted ceramic tableware from the famous Bat Trang pottery village.
The kitchen pairs these contemporary plates with global wines tailored specifically to enhance local herbs. It’s a cultural journey that feels deeply personal and grounding.
However, the quiet, residential location comes with its own logistical challenges.
Being tucked away in a narrow alleyway makes ride-hailing drop-offs and physical accessibility tricky. Plus, signature tasting menus are unavailable without a booking, which limits options for spontaneous walk-ins.
