Living in Vietnam can be a sensory overload. Between the relentless traffic in Ho Chi Minh City and the high-pressure grind in Hanoi, burnout isn’t just a possibility.

For many of us, it feels inevitable.

I’ve been there, staring at the ceiling, wondering if “toughing it out” is actually working (spoiler: it wasn’t). But acknowledging you need help is only half the battle.

The other half is navigating a confusing medical maze where costs swing rapidly, and finding a therapist who actually speaks your language can feel like a lottery. You don’t need more stress trying to find relief.

That’s why we’ve reviewed options for different budgets and requirements to find the best mental health clinics in Vietnam to help you get back on track.

Here are the sanctuaries where you can finally take a breath.

How much does mental health care cost in Vietnam?

Pricing here really depends on where you go and the level of comfort you require.

Patients comfortable with a utilitarian public hospital setting find fees incredibly affordable, typically ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 VND per visit.

However, those prioritizing complete privacy, shorter wait times, or specialized therapy in a modern clinic should expect to pay premium rates.

Private sessions usually run between 700,000 VND and 4,000,000 VND per session.

It is similar to the difference between grabbing a quick bowl of phở on the sidewalk and dining at a 5-star restaurant.

Both feed you, but the experience differs vastly.

1. Dr. Uan Psychiatric Clinic

dr-uan-psychiatric-clinic

Website: https://phongkhamtamthan.net/

Address: Shop 09, 1st Floor, Park 12 Building, Times City Urban Area, Minh Khai, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi

Contact: 0913 511 475 | 0949 694 312 | [email protected]

Schedule: Mon-Sat 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Finding a psychiatric clinic that balances expertise with a modern environment isn’t always easy, but Dr. Dinh Huu Uan’s practice at Times City manages to do just that.

Dr. Uan brings impressive international credentials to the table, including a fellowship with the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and his frequent appearances on VTV definitely add a layer of trust to his reputation.

What sets this clinic apart is its ability to handle complex medical cases, like schizophrenia or substance-induced disorders, through serious clinical treatment rather than just standard counseling

The facility itself feels secure and contemporary, which is a refreshing change from older clinics.

The only real hurdle here is the scheduling. The clinic is only open in the mornings and stays closed on Sundays, which can be a massive headache if you’re working a typical 9-to-5.

If you can swing the morning hours, though, the quality of care is easily some of the best available.

Pros

  • Led by an American Psychological Association (APA) International Fellow
  • Treats severe and complex disorders
  • Located in modern Times City complex
  • Frequent appearances on national TV

Cons

  • Strict morning-only operating hours
  • Closed on Sundays

I sincerely thank Dr. Uân, Dr. Trường
My mother sought treatment at various large public hospitals but to no avail. She was examined at Dr. Uân’s clinic and her condition improved within the first week. I continued giving her the prescribed medication and she is progressing quite well. I sincerely thank Dr. Uân, Dr. Trường, and all the staff at the clinic.

I have seen my condition improve and stabilize
I am patient Tran Xuan Du, currently receiving treatment at Dr. Uan’s Psychiatric Clinic. I have been receiving treatment at the clinic for 6 months now, and during the treatment process, I have seen my condition improve and stabilize. My family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Uan and the team of doctors at the clinic. I have also recommended the clinic to my acquaintances for treatment, and they have all experienced improvement in their conditions.

2. Vietnam Institute of Psychology

Website: https://www.vietnampsychology.com/

Address: 9D8, Saigon Pearl, 92 Nguyen Huu Canh Street, Thanh My Tay Ward, Ho Chi Min City

Contact: 0287 303 9848

Schedule: Daily 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM

The Vietnam Institute of Psychology brings world-class mental health care right to the local community.

Since their team holds degrees from top universities in the US and Norway, patients receive international-standard, evidence-based treatment without any language barriers.

Nevertheless, they also do a great job partnering with local schools and businesses, showing they understand the community context.

But what I really love is their holistic approach. They combine traditional counseling with advanced tech like neurofeedback and QEEG brain mapping.

The vibe here is incredibly welcoming, too. I actually sat in on a session with Bam Bam the Corgi, and having a therapy dog there instantly melted the tension away and made opening up so much easier.

Despite these strengths in psychology, the clinic doesn’t seem to have psychiatrists on staff. This means if you need a prescription, you’ll likely have to make a separate trip to a hospital.

Pros

  • Multilingual staff trained internationally
  • Offers therapy dog “Bam Bam”
  • Advanced services like Neurofeedback/QEEG
  • Strong corporate and school partnerships

Cons

  • No in-house psychiatrist for prescriptions
  • Patients may need outside referrals for meds

3. Mai Huong Daytime Psychiatric Hospital

Website: https://bcare.vn/danh-sach/co-so-y-te/benh-vien-tam-than-ban-ngay-mai-huong-112/chi-tiet

Address: No. 4, Hong Mai Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi

Contact: 0243 627 5762 | [email protected]

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Mai Huong offers a fantastic alternative for psychiatric care and addiction treatment by focusing entirely on a daytime treatment model.

Instead of dealing with the isolation or stigma of full inpatient confinement, you receive professional, rigorous medical care during the day and go home to your family at night. This setup does wonders for maintaining a sense of normalcy in your everyday life.

For a public facility, they’re also incredibly accessible as they offer free phone consultations and even do home visits.

Plus, the costs are significantly lower than what you’d pay at private international clinics, making long-term care much more sustainable for the average person.

The only real downside is the structure itself. Because it’s a day clinic, they aren’t equipped to handle nighttime emergencies.

If someone is dealing with an acute crisis that requires 24/7 monitoring, this wouldn’t be the right fit. Otherwise, it’s an excellent, affordable option for ongoing support.

Pros

  • “Daytime” model allows sleeping at home
  • Very affordable public hospital pricing
  • Home visits and free phone consults
  • Reduces the stigma of full confinement

Cons

  • No overnight inpatient care available

4. Psychologist Vietnam

Website: https://www.psychologistvietnam.com/

Address: 162 Nguyen Duy Trinh, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang

Contact: 0812 151 220 | [email protected]

Hours: By Appointment Only

If the thought of a sterile, white clinic makes you uneasy, this therapy service is a breath of fresh air. They offer incredible flexibility, allowing you to hold sessions online, in the comfort of your own home, or even at a relaxed coffee shop.

Finding the right therapist is all about the “click,” so their free initial consultation is a great way to find your perfect match, minus the (financial) pressure.

On top of that, you’ll be meeting with a diverse, explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly team that truly prioritizes a safe, non-judgmental environment for everyone.

They cover a lot of ground, too, offering everything from corporate Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to specialized dyslexia support.

The only minor downside is that their physical office is strictly by appointment, meaning no walk-ins. But given their amazing mobile and digital options, it’s hardly a dealbreaker!

Pros

  • Sessions available in cafes or at home
  • Free initial consultation offered
  • Explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive
  • Flexible online and offline options

Cons

  • Strictly appointment-only (no walk-ins)

Dedicated doctor with good professional knowledge
I accidentally learned about this company through a friend’s introduction. My first impression is that the space is very airy, there are consulting rooms and all have air conditioning, making me feel very comfortable.

5. Saigon Psychub – Phòng Tâm Lý Sài Gòn

saigon-psychub

Website: https://www.psychub.vn/

Address: Shophouse SH07, Aqua 2 Tower, Vinhomes Golden River, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City

Contact: 0866 045 054 | [email protected]

Schedule: Mon-Sat 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Patients prioritizing strict adherence to international ethical standards will find Saigon Psychub a reliable choice.

This commitment to the APA ethical framework ensures a level of confidentiality and boundaries that can sometimes be missing in local contexts.

They are particularly strong in developmental support, being one of the few places offering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention for autism linked to US standards.

The clinic also acts as a training hub, so the staff is constantly supervised and up-to-date on scientific methods, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Their location in Vinhomes Golden River is ultra-private and premium. And that premium nature does extend to its price tag. Expect to pay fees that reflect the high-end location and foreign qualifications, which might be a barrier for those on a tighter budget.

Pros

  • Strictly follows the APA ethical code
  • Offers ABA intervention for Autism
  • Staff undergoes regular clinical supervision
  • Private and high-end facility

Cons

  • Premium pricing due to its luxury location and international standards
  • Not equipped for psychiatric emergencies

Customer Reviews

The psychologist I met was very helpful
I discovered Psychub when one of my friend had a terrible accident in Vietnam and we needed a first assessment from a psychologist regarding his mental condition.

Psychub team was very professional when i came to meet them, their office is very clean and well organized. The service is very good also.

In addition, the psychologist i met was very helpful and i appreciated his way of communication.

I really recommend trying here
I had a very good experience at Psychub. The staff here work professionally, listen carefully and really care about the client’s feelings. I feel safe and respected in every working session.

The space is quiet and comfortable, helping me feel comfortable sharing. The process of booking and arranging appointments is also very flexible.

What I appreciate most is that the specialist not only “listens” but also helps me look at the problem in a gentle, realistic way.

If you are looking for a place to understand and take care of your mental health seriously, I really recommend trying here.
