The 5 Best MMA Gyms in Ho Chi Minh City for Spectacular Training Sessions

Coaching Expertise: We evaluated the professional backgrounds of the instructors to ensure they have legitimate fight experience or high-level coaching credentials. Learning martial arts from seasoned veterans helps you build proper technique without picking up bad habits too early.

Facility Infrastructure: The quality of the training mats, heavy bags, and cage setups was a major part of our selection process. A well-equipped gym lowers the risk of injury and gives people enough room to train without feeling cramped.

Class Variety and Schedule: We looked for gyms that offer a mix of striking, grappling, and strength-and-conditioning options. Facilities with broader schedules also scored better because they are easier to fit into busy workweeks.

Community Atmosphere: A supportive environment matters, especially for beginners who may feel intimidated on their first day. We favored gyms that seem to encourage respect, correction, and steady progress instead of ego.

Value for Money: We weighed membership fees against instruction quality, cleanliness, and the availability of amenities. Every gym here offers a solid return for a different kind of trainee, whether you want a budget-friendly dojo or a premium all-in-one facility.

Finding the best mixed martial arts (MMA) gym in Ho Chi Minh City can take more trial and error than most people expect. Some spots are built for hard sparring and fight prep, while others make more sense for fitness, self-defense, or building a striking base.

So, I looked for gyms with strong coaching, reliable facilities, fair value, and a training atmosphere that makes it easier to stay consistent.

This guide narrows the field so you can compare the places that stand out without wasting time on disappointing drop-ins!

How much do MMA gym memberships cost in Ho Chi Minh City?

Gym TierAverage Monthly Costs
Budget/Local Gyms500,000 – 1,000,000 VND (e.g., specific classes)

1. Lien Phong Training Center

lien-phong-training-center

Website:http://www.lienphongmma.com/

Address: 101/29/15 Alley 5 Le Van Luong Street, Phuoc Kien Ward, Nha Be District

Contact: 0345 475 335 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:00 AM – 10:30 PM; Saturday-Sunday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Founded by actor Johnny Tri Nguyen, Lien Phong Training Center feels more like a focused fight camp than a standard city gym.

The open-air setup, hexagonal cage, and tournament pedigree, including hosting Gods of Martial Arts (GMA) events, give the place a serious identity right away.

What stands out most to me is how distraction-free the whole environment feels. The atmosphere here is perfect for strong sparring and room to move.

Advanced students get access to skilled partners, while the curriculum also branches into Katori Shinto-ryu, a traditional Japanese swordsmanship style.

The tradeoff is location. Nha Be is a long haul from the central districts, so the commute can wear you out fast.

Still, for people who want a retreat-like training camp with real fight energy, this one is worth a closer look.

Pros

  • Immersive, open-air training environment
  • High-level sparring partners
  • Incorporates traditional weapons training
  • Distraction-free, retreat-like atmosphere

Cons

  • Far from the central districts
  • Commute can be time-consuming

Customer Reviews

The course consultant is very clear.

I really like the space in Lien Phong, very rustic and close, thatched roof house, bamboo fence, lots of open space, a coffee shop and a free gym for students. There is also a spacious MMA cage. The course consultant is very clear and has a good grasp of the issues that need to be clarified with students. The price of courses for adults is around 2.5 million to 2.9 million/month

The space is designed with taste, spacious, and airy.

Lien Phong Martial Arts School of Mr. Johny Tri Nguyen, one of the places that trains excellent MMA fighters in the Southern region. The space is designed with taste, spacious, airy. There is a cafe right inside the premises.

2. Saigon Sports Club

Address: 514B Huỳnh Tấn Phát, Bình Thuận, Quận 7

Contact: 0706666645 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Sunday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Saigon Sports Club is the kind of place that makes a huge first impression. For starters, it combines boxing rings, matted training zones, CrossFit spaces, a swimming pool, and recovery-focused extras in one massive complex.

With their wide focus, you can move between disciplines without juggling several memberships.

What I appreciate most, however, is the amount of room to train. Even at busier times, the infrastructure helps things feel organized instead of cramped, and the club also runs structured beginner options for kids and women.

The downside is obvious: you pay for that scale. Membership costs sit well above what you’d spend at a more traditional dojo, and some people may not need the premium add-ons.

Still, if you want a polished all-in-one combat sports setup, Saigon Sports Club is hard to ignore.

Pros

  • Massive facility with a pool and juice bar
  • Multiple disciplines available under one roof
  • Excellent infrastructure with zero overcrowding
  • Specialized programs for kids and women

Cons

  • Significantly higher membership costs
  • Premium amenities may be unnecessary for some

Excellent facilities and top-notch instructors.

If you are a Martial Arts passionate, Saigon Sports Club will become your second home: excellent facilities and top-notch instructors. On top of that I had the chance to attend an MMA seminar with former UFC champ Rich “Ace” Franklin. What more can a girl want?

3. Võ đường MSG MUAY SAIGON LẦU 1

Address: 127 Đ. Trần Huy Liệu, Phường 8, Phú Nhuận

Contact: +84 33 721 2488 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Saturday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sunday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

If your MMA goals start with sharper striking, Võ đường MSG MUAY SAIGON LẦU 1 is a strong budget-friendly option.

The gym keeps things simple and traditional, with a heavy focus on pad work, drilling, and self-defense. It’s the kind of Thai-style conditioning that quickly exposes weak cardio.

I also appreciate the atmosphere here. Experienced students seem to help newer students settle in, and the smaller class sizes make it much easier to get direct corrections from the coaches.

Overall, the setup is fantastic when you’re trying to clean up the basics rather than just survive the session.

You’ll need to compromise a bit on comfort, though. Since this isn’t a luxury facility, there aren’t any polished locker rooms or a full cross-training weights area. But if you want honest instruction without the glossy extras, this place delivers.

Pros

  • Intimate class sizes for direct feedback
  • Highly affordable membership rates
  • Strong, supportive community vibe
  • Authentic and intense pad-work sessions

Cons

  • No luxury locker rooms or air conditioning
  • Lacks cross-training weight equipment

Customer Reviews

Highly recommended!

Coach Thuy is super knowledgeable, friendly, but definitely pushes you in the best way. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, he makes you feel welcome and part of the team. The vibe is great, highly recommend!

Listens to my goals and consistently goes above and beyond.

Thuy is an excellent trainer. I started working with him two weeks ago and am currently halfway through a 12-session course. He listens to my goals and consistently goes above and beyond to accommodate my schedule, even at short notice. The gym is in a prime location but maintains an authentic, no-frills atmosphere that feels focused and welcoming.

4. RAM Muay Thai

Website:https://rammuaythai.com/

Address: 33 Vo Truong Toan St, Thao Dien, Dist. 2

Contact: +84 89 835 51 40 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

RAM Muay Thai feels especially approachable for expats and casual trainees in Thao Dien. I love how the programming here blends traditional striking with high-intensity conditioning in a way that works well for fitness and confidence building.

Also, the coaching team communicates clearly in English, and the gym stays impressively clean.

The flexible class packs are another plus, especially for people whose work or travel schedules change a lot. I was also glad to see a boutique setup that still feels welcoming instead of intimidating.

The catch is that the curriculum leans more toward conditioning than hard sparring, so competitive fighters may want something grittier.

If you want a sweat-heavy routine that can rival advancedyoga classes, though, RAM is easy to recommend.

Pros

  • Excellent English instruction from coaches
  • Impeccably clean and modern facility
  • Flexible class packs for busy schedules
  • Great balance of striking and fitness

Cons

  • Limited focus on hard sparring
  • Not ideal for competitive fighters

Customer Reviews

It’s become my favorite part of the day!

RAM Muay Thai feels more like a community than just a gym. From the moment you walk in, Ms. Dung makes you feel right at home. It’s perfect if you are intimidated by big gyms because everyone here is so supportive. The convenience is amazing too—they have everything from clean wraps to a smoothie bar. It’s become my favorite part of the day!

The facilities are excellent and so is the service.

Simply 1 of the best Muay Thai gyms I’ve been to, anywhere in the world. If you want to train in a fun, professional and skilled environment — this is the place for you. The facilities are excellent and so is the service, down to every detail. You will also meet great people here, from staff to others training. If you’re in Saigon and want to enjoy your training then this is the place you’ve been looking for!

5. WOLF MUAY THAI GYM-VIET NAM

wolf-muay-thai-gym-viet-nam

Website:http://www.wolfmuaythaigym.com/

Address: 133/3 Nguyễn Chí Thanh, Phường 9, Quận 5

Contact: 093 828 6021 / 0348 681 168 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Sunday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

WOLF MUAY THAI GYM-VIET NAM has a raw, alleyway fight-camp feel that a lot of serious trainees will like.

The gym focuses heavily on conditioning and tactical striking. Regulars I spoke with seem to value how directly the coaches get involved during training rather than staying on the sidelines.

That hands-on approach can make a real difference when you’re learning timing, leverage, or clinch work. I also found the tiered packages useful because they make it easier to choose between basic fitness training and more committed amateur prep.

The main drawback is the schedule. Closing at 7:00 PM on weekdays is tough for people who finish work late, and the smaller space means planning ahead is helpful.

Even so, the coaching engagement and unpolished fight energy feel very real here.

Pros

  • Rigorous and effective conditioning protocols
  • Direct coach engagement during sparring
  • Clear, tiered training packages available
  • Authentic and raw urban training vibe

Cons

  • Closes early on weekdays at 7:00 PM
  • Difficult schedule for late-working professionals

Customer Reviews

I look forward to the next class.

I had a great trainning at Wolf Muay Thai Gym yesterday. The gym itself is quite small but Steven the trainer is really good at making the most out of it. Steven is a great coach. He adapt to student, assign different exercices to different students and manage to keep an eye on everyone. I bought the package of 10 class and I look foward to the next class.

Great for beginners and advanced trainers alike.

I’m visiting HCMC for a few weeks and plan to make this my go-to gym. Steven is an awesome coach who gives personalized attention to every student. He’s patient and kind while also knowing when to push you a bit. The space is small, so best to text ahead to confirm your spot. Classes are very affordable (to the point where I’d like to urge Steven to raise his prices). Great for beginners and advanced trainers alike. Thanks Steven!
