1. Yuzu Omakase

Address: 34 Thủ Khoa Huân, Phường Bến Thành, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
Phone: +84 936 315 567
Hours: Monday – Sunday 12–1:30 PM, 6–10:15 PM
Yuzu Omakase redefines the traditional counter experience with an avant-garde approach that feels like a front-row seat at a high-end theater. What sets them apart is their cinematic, theatrical presentation that involves dry ice, smoke, and edible gold leaf.
I visited them for a special anniversary, and the “The One” menu truly lived up to its name with over-the-top courses. The chef used a torch to sear buttery otoro right in front of us, creating an absolutely intoxicating scent.
Almost all their seafood comes directly from Tsukiji Market, so the freshness is truly undeniable. They offer tiered journeys like “The Rhythm” for lunch, which makes high-end dining a bit more accessible.
However, if you are looking for a quiet and humble Edomae vibe, the bells and whistles here might feel a bit distracting. Also, their top-tier menus are quite pricey compared to other premium spots in the city.
Customer Reviews
Such a lovely omakase experience from start to finish. Every course feels carefully thought out, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and delicate, well-balanced flavors. The presentation is beautiful without being overdone, and you can really feel the chef’s care and passion in each dish. The cozy, intimate atmosphere makes the whole meal even more enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to

This is the new standard for all omakase for me. There are different packages you can book online for lunch or dinner. Dinner options are pricier however very much worth it. The staff had reached out to confirm and were very attentive throughout the whole experience. Our chef was very professional and made the experience a lot more intimate. The food was amazing and even though we were not use to the flavor it was still delicious.

2. NORIBOI Omakase Japanese Restaurant

Website: https://noriboivn.com/
Address: 31 Pho Duc Chinh, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: +84 901 816 880
Hours: Monday – Sunday, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
NORIBOI offers a uniquely Vietnamese-led omakase that masterfully blends Japanese precision with vibrant local flavors.
What I love about this restaurant is their artistic storytelling that uses ingredients like Hoa Loc mango or Da Lat herbs to complement premium Japanese fish.
The interior is moody and cinematic, with lighting that keeps your eyes glued to the chef’s every move. Nothing felt rushed as well, since the pacing of the courses was like a well-rehearsed orchestra.
During my last meal here, the staff-to-guest ratio was so high that I never even had to ask for a refill. I especially loved their signature Wagyu, which was so marbled it practically melted before it even hit my tongue.
Keep in mind that they require a financial deposit to secure bookings. Also, the atmosphere is quiet, so it might not be the best place for a group meal.

We had a wonderful experience at Noriboi. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staffs from the moment we arrived. Chef Hạ and our server Phương provided amazing, professional service throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, with a few delightful surprises along the way. We felt truly special on our date. 10/10 would recommend! Trang Le Google Review
Chef Hạ and the staff are amazing. The whole menu are very tasty and atmosphere is incredible. You taste not just the food, but see the colour/ decoration/ listen to the story behind each special dish. All the senses awaken. Strongly recommended. Andre Tran Google Review
3. Kasen Omakase

Website: http://www.kasen.vn/
Address: 101 Le Thi Rieng, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: +84 899 855 101
Hours: Monday – Sunday 10:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Kasen Omakase is one of the few sushi places that are continuously open from 10:30 AM, making them a perfect pick for a premium lunch. I actually ordered their delivery omakase before for my work lunch and loved how well the quality held up in transit.
If you’re dining in, their ambiance is perfect if you prefer a much more cozy and homely setting than the intimidating minimalist boxes you often see in fine dining.
As for the food, they’re built on a “trust the chef” philosophy that features a weekly rotating menu of fine seasonal finds. A major standout is the inclusion of creative dishes like their famous seafood tacos, which offer a crunchy break from traditional nigiri.
A small downside is that the sushi rice can be quite heavy on the vinegar, which might mask the flavor of lighter white fish. Also, the outdoor-adjacent seating can occasionally attract a few mosquitoes, so maybe skip the shorts when you visit.

It was my first experience with omakase, and I was absolutely blown away! The incredible flavors, combined with the warm friendliness and hospitality of the owner, made it an unforgettable experience. What a delightful touch!

I have visited this restaurant two times and have been impressed by consistent quality of their foods. I especially like the tacos with seafood and tacos with beef. All other foods are great too. The tastes, the designs, the freshness of the foods are perfect. They have just developed a menu of buffet with a good deal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is friendly and cozy. Highly recommended place for those who prefer cozy atmosphere and fine-dining services.

4. UME Sushi & Omakase

Website: https://www.umedining.vn/
Address: 10 Song Hanh, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City
Contact: +84 98 161 7888
Hours: Monday – Sunday 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM & 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
UME Sushi is widely regarded as the most accessible high-quality omakase in Saigon, with entry-level sets that won’t break the bank.
Their core specialty is providing an authentic multi-course experience starting as low as 700,000 VND, which is a total steal in this market.
Located in District 2, this restaurant is like a peaceful escape from the frantic energy of the city center.
I took a group of friends here recently, and everyone was impressed by the freshness of the Hokkaido Uni and Otoro. This place is actually a great spot for mixed groups because they offer a fantastic à la carte menu alongside the omakase counter.
UME Sushi is quite popular on social media, so expect a bit of a crowd and some noise. The vibe is definitely closer to a lively, high-end sushi restaurant than a hidden sanctuary.

We tried the Omakase set, coz it’s a big group so we didnt get to sit a the bar to see the chefs prepare or dishes. Overall, it was okay to my taste, some dishes we liked, some we didn’t, probably rating 7/10, not giving me a wow effect that I must come back to try more. Queenie D. Google Review
The food is absolutely amazing. They have unique and delicious dishes here, some of which I’ve never tried at other restaurants. When I arrived, the Omakase counter was already full, so I ordered à la carte. There are so many dishes to choose from—I’ll definitely come back to try the Omakase. Tram Tran Google Review
5. Mutsumian Omakase & Sukiyaki

Website: http://mutsumian.vn/
Address: Lê Thánh Tôn/15/1 Ward, Bến Nghé, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
Phone: +84 906 963 553
Hours: Monday – Sunday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Mutsumian is a rare find in Saigon’s Little Tokyo because it combines refined sushi with authentic premium Sukiyaki. What sets them apart is their dual specialty, along with traditional Genshiyaki charcoal grilling that adds a smoky depth to the meal.
I’ve spoken with a few Wagyu enthusiasts who swear by this place because they specialize in A5+ cuts. Watching the staff prepare the sukiyaki tableside is engaging, making the meal feel very interactive.
Overall, this place is perfect for a formal business meeting or a high-stakes date night, especially with its sophisticated wooden interior design features.
Because of their strong focus on meat and hotpot, Mutsumian’s selection of raw fish Omakase is slightly smaller than at a dedicated sushi bar.
The pricing can also be a bit confusing, as the sets range widely from very affordable to quite expensive. Make sure you check the menu carefully so you don’t accidentally order the 7,000,000 VND set!

Really had a great time here with my wife. The chef was young, but he was very meticulous with his omakase course prep and presentation. The ootoro was awesome. Definitely recommended and I’ll come back again to try out a different seasonal menu.

Go eat Japanese food in the Japanese area! The ground floor is omakase and the upper floor is izakaya style (drinking house) but more luxurious than izakaya. That said, about 500k is enough to eat well and drink lightly. Those who drink a lot of beer and wine will have to spend more. The food is ok for the space, service and price. We went on a day when there was Japanese dance so it was interesting. Worth coming back!
