Craving a seafood feast after a long week of meetings often leads diners to seek out cozy and flavor-packed environments.
Chill Thái preserves the authentic taste of traditional recipes while tweaking the fiery heat levels to perfectly suit the Vietnamese palate.
The kitchen highlights premium specialized dishes like salt-crusted grouper, providing a refreshing break from standard casual menus. This distinct approach makes it highly accessible for tourists in the city center and local residents in key residential districts.

You’ll also immediately notice their joyful service culture, turning everyday hospitality into a genuine emotional lift for guests.

Got take out from Chill Thai on our first night in Ho Chi Minh city as it was late and they are usually open till 11pm. It was around 30 mins wait but food was really good so we did not mind. Would definitely recommend for takeout if you are in the area during your stay.

Address: 20 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Saigon Ward
Contact: 0707 950 280
Hours: Monday to Sunday 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Finding a vibrant dinner spot right in the heart of District 1 that actually delivers on big flavor can be tricky.
KHAP KHAP Thai Bistro is specifically inspired by traditional wooden houses along the Mekong River, recreating a distinct Bangkok atmosphere. They focus on authentic spices while explicitly adjusting the seasoning to be friendly for local palates.
When I dropped by last week to devour their giant chili-drenched pork ribs, the staff immediately made me feel at home with a cheerful greeting.
I love how their hospitality shines through their highly attentive service, making it a great place to unwind after a busy workday.
Because of the lively party atmosphere, however, the elevated noise levels might not be ideal for diners seeking a quiet conversation. Their prices are noticeably higher, too, compared to casual street food stalls nearby.
Customer Reviews
I really enjoyed my experience at Khap Khap. The food was well-seasoned, full of Thai flavors yet very easy to enjoy. Everything was beautifully presented and felt clean and well prepared. Hot dishes were served at the right time, and the sauces and sides were thoughtfully done.
A big plus was the friendly, attentive, and efficient service. The staff were proactive and caring without being intrusive. The space is warm and comfortable, making it a great spot for meals with friends or family.
I’ll definitely be coming back and would happily recommend Khap Khap to others.

3. Thai Market

Address: 95 Cao Thắng Ward 3, District 3
Contact: 0283 9292 668 / [email protected]

Keeping authentic spices intact is a true art form when recreating regional recipes abroad. Thai Market sources its key ingredients directly from Chiang Mai to ensure the flavor profile remains as original as possible.
They even stick to traditional manual grinding to preserve the fiery essential oils of the spices, resulting in a remarkably bold taste that does not compromise for a generic palate!
I love how their lively interior mimics the sights and sounds of a bustling street market, offering a culturally immersive meal.
You’ll find their expansive menu provides a nice alternative to standard italian restaurants when planning a large group dinner.
A highlight is their visually impressive signature dinosaur ribs for families seeking a unique culinary centerpiece.
Shoppers should also note that service at their busier mall locations can occasionally be inconsistent during peak weekend hours. You’re undeniably paying a premium for the standardized branded setting here compared to cheap roadside dining options.

Delicious food with special taste and impressed decoration. The staffs here are so friendly and helpful. The most important is the reasonable price. This restaurant is one of my best choice here in the centre of Ho Chi Minh city.

Had a fantastic dinner as I am writing this review. Spice level is spot on for thai basil pork rice. Tom yum soup is fresh and tasty. Pineapple rice and pad Thai tasted pretty authentic. Pork ribs and papaya salad were decent. Environment, staff service and taste were all great . One of the best thai food establishment I could enjoy in saigon.

Hours: Monday to Sunday 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Stepping into a bustling urban eatery often means sacrificing flavor for a trendy aesthetic, but certain spots manage to capture both perfectly.
TukTuk Thai Bistro defines itself as a small and friendly space designed to bring modern Asian sophistication to your dining experience.
The menu features simple and original dishes served in small sets, which is perfect for diners on the go. You’ll also find a wide range of authentic flavor profiles here, especially complex ones like savory sauces and fragrant lemongrass.
On the downside, their high-density seating might be a notable drawback for those wanting significant personal space.
And since it remains a top choice for youngsters in the area, you’ll likely encounter a noisy and frantic atmosphere during the main lunch and dinner rushes.

TukTuk Thai Bistro is a cozy and welcoming place with great Thai flavors. The Tom Yum soup was absolutely delicious — rich, spicy, and perfectly balanced. The service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely come back to try more dishes from their menu. Highly recommended!

Was a nice cozy restaurant. Helpful staff and quick service. Small place but clean restroom. Great location, only one thing was they don’t have spots for moped parking. Good quality and delicious dishes, in my opinion the best dish was deepfry flossing fresh water fish. Vegetarian options were good as well. Interesting drink options.

5. Som Tum Thai

Contact: 028 3823 8588 / 028 3828 2388

Uncovering a menu that spans all four major culinary regions of a country is an exciting discovery for any dedicated foodie.
Som Tum Thai features dishes crafted by a head chef with extensive experience, utilizing inherited recipes passed down through generations.
What’s fascinating is how they use original marinades imported directly from Thailand alongside fresh local ingredients to ensure absolute quality integrity. Their specialized approach provides a deeply authentic taste.
I recently ordered their signature papaya salad during a quick mall run, and the bright citrus notes completely woke up my palate.
As for the vibe, the clean and well-decorated interior is suitable for professional meetings or casual mall dining.
I just noticed that their portion sizes are relatively small, given the higher price point. You might need to order several dishes to feel full. Furthermore, the average prices are significantly higher than other local options in the area.

Popular fusion Thai food chain, this restaurant has good design. I love the table next to the big window on the first floor when you could have a good “green view”.
Food is good with reasonable price.

Som Tum Thai is simply delicious. We had the chicken satay, spicy pork with noodles and a Tiger beer. We’ve never scarfed down so much food so fast. This is a far cry from a stereotypical mall or food court establishment. Excellent service with a beautiful bustling atmosphere. Its the only restaurant that had a line at the Saigon Centre.
