Vietnam’s 5 Best Mexican Restaurants Worth Visiting for a Fiesta of Flavor

  • Authenticity and Ingredients: We searched for kitchens that prioritize genuine culinary traditions, favoring imported spices over easy shortcuts. Establishments that hand-press their tortillas or slow-roast meats ranked noticeably higher in our evaluation.
  • Menu Variety and Inclusivity: A top-tier dining destination must cater to diverse dietary preferences without compromising on rich flavor profiles. We looked closely at places offering substantial vegetarian or gluten-free alternatives alongside their heavy meat platters.
  • Atmosphere and Vibe: The environment plays a crucial role in the overall dining experience, dictating whether a location suits a quiet date or a massive birthday bash. We assessed the seating arrangements and energy levels to help you find the right mood.
  • Value for Money: Balancing quality with affordability ensures that guests leave feeling satisfied rather than shortchanged. We analyzed portion sizes and delivery perks to see who delivers the most bang for your buck.

Craving a fiesta of flavors? You’re not alone. Luckily, hunting down vibrant street eats or seeking that nostalgic bite of home isn’t a problem in Vietnam, as the culinary scene here has dramatically evolved to satisfy every palate.

Forget the standard Mexican fare; we’re diving deep into spicy salsas and perfectly charred meats.

Finding the absolute Best Mexican Restaurants in Vietnam means uncovering spots that deliver authentic crunch and mouth-watering aromas, and I’ve done the eating for you! Let’s get started!

1. Taco Del Sol

taco-del-sol

Website:http://tacodelsol.vn/

Address: 4-5 Floor, 110-112 Ly Tu Trong Street, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, HCMC

Contact: +84 789 92 12 12

Hours: Mon – Sun: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

If you crave a vibrant collision of cultures, Taco Del Sol brilliantly executes Mexican-Vietnamese fusion.

Here, they intertwine traditional Central American recipes with fresh local staples, such as their savory “Bo Kho” (Beef Stew) Burrito. This unique crossover instantly sets them apart from conventional eateries.

Seafood lovers will rejoice over their Baja Fish and Governador tacos, packed with barramundi and sofrito.  Vegetarians also get premium treatment with robust Mushroom Pibil fillings.

When I spoke with regulars, they consistently highlighted the 150k VND afternoon burrito deals as a true lifesaver for budget-conscious crowds.

However, the experience comes with a logistical hiccup. Because the dining room sits on the 4th and 5th floors, patrons must park their bikes down the street at 34a Thu Khoa Huan, adding a slight inconvenience before the feast begins.

Pros

  • Extensive seafood taco variety
  • Late-night availability
  • Value-packed afternoon burrito discounts
  • Thoughtful vegetarian options

Cons

  • Inconvenient off-site parking
  • Requires walking from parking area

Customer Reviews:

Great for families. Good atmosphere.

Came here with the fam for a meal before going to opera house for a show. Service was quick which was perfect for us. Great range of tacos, burritos, bowls and more. Great for families. Good atmosphere. We sat on the kitchen level which was noisy but a good vibe. Everything we had was delicious. Definitely recommend the horchata too.

The food more than satisfied our craving for Mexican food.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. My daughter enjoyed the steak quesadilla while I had the chicken burrito bowl. The bowl had a nice amount of heat to it. We are here for several weeks and had an itch for Mexican food. We are from California. While not quite as good as out west, the food more than satisfied the craving for Mexican food with fresh ingredients and friendly staff.

2. Casa Loco Da Nang – Mexican Restaurant

Address: 75 Lê Quang Đạo, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng

Hours: Mon – Sun: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Nothing beats the satisfying crunch of authentic corn masa, and Casa Loco Da Nang refuses to compromise. They’re popular for importing the specific ‘Dent’ corn to make their traditional house-made tortilla chips fresh every single day.

Stepping into this lively venue feels like crashing an epic fiesta. The massive space easily accommodates birthday parties of up to 50 guests, complete with pitchers of house-made Sangria and over ten Margarita variations.

Large groups constantly gravitate toward the Ultimate Share Platter, heavily loaded with slow-cooked meats and grilled elote.

Another draw is that they provide a strict, safe gluten-free menu for guests with dietary restrictions.

Just a heads-up: this bustling environment is definitely not tailored for a quick lunch. The loud music and focus on lingering brunches mean you should look elsewhere if you need a fast grab-and-go meal.

Pros

  • Massive shared meat platters
  • Over 10 margarita recipes
  • Dedicated gluten-free menu
  • Spacious venue for big parties

Cons

  • Loud party atmosphere
  • Unsuitable for quick lunch stops

Customer Reviews:

This place had a good selection.

We’re vegetarians and this place had a good selection. We ordered Frijoles Maneados Nachos, Batata Con Queso taco, Patatas Bravas and the Guacamole. All were very tasty! The taco was quite small so glad we ordered starters – although my taco came out first. Decent wine.

I REALLY needed this today of all days!

That was AMAZING! Really unexpected at the delicious spices, smoky flavor, and super clean friendly atmosphere! 8 years in Vietnam and I REALLY needed this today of all days! I’ll be back here ALL THE TIME! The tacos are quite large. It was so delicious I’m going to go back for dinner tonight because I couldn’t eat enough to satisfy my Mexican food DROUGHT! Thank you I’m so happy I stumbled across this gem!

3. Gringo Tacos y Cantina

Website:http://gringotacos.vn/

Address: 28 Mê Linh, Phường 19, Thạnh Mỹ Tây, Hồ Chí Minh

Contact: +84 949 123 177

Hours: Mon – Sun: 11:00 AM – 09:45 PM

When it comes to chef-driven authenticity, Gringo Tacos y Cantina stands tall. It’s helmed by a Southern California native who imports select ingredients to produce fresh masa and fiery salsas in-house.

Be prepared for massive portions that easily satisfy ravenous appetites. Plus, you can customize practically anything, turning a standard breakfast burrito into a “wet” masterpiece drenched in smoky chipotle sauce.

They also excel at crispy chimichangas, offering a heavily loaded “Gringo Style” packed with melted cheese.

Chatting with expats who practically live at this cantina reveals that the authentic pickled chili peppers served here provide a genuine heat that is hard to find elsewhere.

Naturally, this strict dedication to high-quality imports and laborious preparation means their menu has a noticeably higher price point than that of localized street food competitors.

Pros

  • Highly customizable burrito options
  • Generous portion sizes
  • Authentic pickled chili sides
  • Signature crispy chimichangas

Cons

  • Expensive prices

Customer Reviews:

The tacos are amazingly full of flavour.

One of my favourite restaurants to visit when im in the city. The tacos are amazing full of flavour and great presentation, I recommend the baja shrimp and fish tacos just 👌👌. The home made chips are always nice too. The staff are always nice and friendly also.

Seriously, it’s the best tacos ever.

So I finally ate at their restaurant, instead of ordering delivery like usual! Seriously, it’s the best tacos ever. They import the corn tortillas because Vietnamese corn isn’t right for making masa. Amazing tacos start with the right tortillas! Dong, the owner, is from Orange County, and as fellow Californian, we take our Mexican food seriously!!! If you want some really good Mexican food, hit up Gringo!

4. Rico Taco

Website:http://ricotacosaigon.com/

Address: 74/7 Hai Bà Trưng, Bến Nghé, Sài Gòn, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

Contact: 028 3825 1676 | [email protected]

Hours: Mon – Sun: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Budget hunters looking for aggressive weekly promotions flock to Rico Taco, famous for highly structured deals like 50% off “Taco Tuesdays” and lively “Thirsty Thursdays” featuring live Latino music.

If you prefer to eat at home, they offer a flat 20% discount on direct food delivery orders.

Beyond the fantastic deals, the venue is visually stunning, offering a leafy outdoor courtyard alongside a comfortable indoor space styled like a miniature Mexico.

The kitchen playfully pairs traditional favorites with local twists, serving lemongrass-infused fish skewers next to classic dips.

Overall, it’s a fantastic alternative to pricierItalian restaurants when planning a casual night out.

However, those famous promotional events come with frustrating caveats. For instance, the Taco Tuesday discount applies only to dine-in, completely excludes crispy shell options, and is instantly voided on public holidays.

Pros

  • Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating
  • 20% discount on direct deliveries
  • Unique localized flavor pairings
  • Convenient large party combos

Cons

  • Highly restrictive promotion rules
  • Taco Tuesday excludes crispy shells

Customer Reviews:

Tacos are delicious!

They nail the laid back vibe of casual and local Mexican restaurant. Tacos are delicious! Rice bowl and chicken salad are decent. The protein in all dishes is marinated and cooked well. Horchata is refreshing but can be silkier. Pina colada cocktail isn’t as creamy as it should. Both churros and tiramisu are yummy.

I highly recommend giving this place a visit.

Great little spot! Atmosphere very cool to get the Mexican feeling. Food was delicious! Had Guacamole and chip and Mixed Fajitas. Very good portion on the fajitas. The steak and shrimp I liked most! I highly recommend to give this place a visit if you like tacos and Mexican food! Will definitely go back in the future when traveling.

5. Naco Taco

naco-taco

Website:https://nacotaco.vn/

Address: 103A, Alley 47, Quang Khanh, Tay Ho, Hanoi

Contact: +84 866 88 3435 | [email protected]

Hours: Mon – Sun: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Street food aficionados instantly recognize Naco Taco for its award-winning pedigree, holding the “Best Taco in Hanoi” title and boasting four consecutive wins at the local Taco Fest.

It’s marvelous how they orchestrate massive 200-person fiestas inside an expansive 350-square-meter open-air jungle courtyard. It provides a relaxed, vibrant alternative to the city’s formal fine-dining restaurants

Vegans receive incredible attention here, with flavorful plant-based proteins like Tofu Pastor and Mushroom fillings seamlessly substituting meat in almost any dish.

To wash down the heavy spices, they partner with local breweries, pouring bold IPAs (India Pale Ales) that perfectly cut through rich Queso Fundido dips.

The primary drawback stems from its dependence on open air. Even with awnings and heaters, the courtyard struggles to provide sterile, climate-controlled comfort during Hanoi’s blistering summer heat.

Pros

  • Has a 200-person event space
  • Exceptional plant-based protein options
  • Local craft beer pairings
  • Extensive communal dip platters

Cons

  • Exposed to harsh weather conditions
  • Lacks standard indoor climate control

Customer Reviews:

The place is not bad, food and service are equally great!

We were there on a rainy day and it wasn’t empty! The place is not bad, food and service are equally great! Unlike in many places in Hanoi, waiters explain things to you and tell you about promotions! We ordered tacos and cheese fondue, loved them!

My recommendation is to try pork chorizo and taco Baja! The drinks are good, too! They have a great variety!

So nice place to chill 😎

This place is so cool, I enjoyed the music very much and the food was so delicious.  The staff was very helpful they explained the different taste. So nice place to chill 😎 I would give more stars if I could, will visit this place more often.
