Where to Find the Best Fried Chicken in Vietnam

  • Crust and Batter Execution: I paid close attention to how well the outer layer held its crunch without becoming excessively greasy. A proper batter needs to lock in the meat's juices while providing a highly satisfying snap upon the first bite.
  • Flavor and Seasoning Depth: The marinade and external seasoning needed to permeate the meat instead of merely sitting on the surface. I looked for distinct flavor profiles that made each bite interesting and memorable.
  • Meat Quality and Tenderness: The chicken itself had to be delightfully juicy and cooked thoroughly without drying out the breast pieces. High-quality poultry makes a massive difference in the overall texture of the meal.
  • Atmosphere and Dining Environment: Enjoying a meal is heavily influenced by the setting, so I evaluated whether the restaurant felt comfortable and welcoming. From casual pub environments to luxurious dining rooms, the vibe had to beautifully complement the food.
  • Value for Money: I compared the portion sizes against the menu prices to ensure the cost felt completely justified. Expensive establishments had to prove their worth through impeccable service and premium ingredients.

If you’re anything like me, a perfectly golden, shatteringly crisp piece of chicken is the ultimate comfort food. Whether you’re craving the fiery glazes of Korean staples or the subtle crunch of a Japanese karaage, the local culinary scene has something to satisfy every craving.

Finding the best fried chicken restaurants in Vietnam became my delicious mission, and the journey was incredibly satisfying. I scoured vibrant night markets and upscale eateries across the country to bring you this curated list.

Get ready to ditch the bland drive-thru meals and discover where food lovers go for a truly unforgettable crunch.

Customer Reviews:

We love it. Definitely will come back.

I thought this restaurant is expensive at first. But after the first bite, that thought’s gone. The dishes is delicious with a reasonable price. The tempura maki is crispy outside, then come the soft rice and then a crispy salmon inside, which is awesome. We also try the ichihana tori teridon, which is rice with the crispy chicken and ichihana sauce. The chicken skin is crispy, the meat is tender, the sauce is great. We love it. Definitely will come back

We left full and happy and I’d gladly come again.

The owner Van was so inviting and friendly. He was very passionate and knowledgeable and it showed in the quality of the dining experience. The menu is a bit confusing but they explain everything in detail. We got the Supreme option and we were so happy with our choice. We left full and happy and I’d gladly come again. 100% recommended

Everything was extremely tasty.

What a great experience! Top notch food and service. One of the best restaurants we’ve been to in a long time! We had the Avocado Maki, fried chicken, gyoza and the wagyu steak. Everything was extremely tasty. Highly recommended place!

Echitora was a godsend!

After five days of Vietnamese food I was craving some change. Echitora was a godsend! My husband and I enjoyed the food so much we went back (twice in 3 days)! Salmon Sashimi was fabulous. Wagyu beef steak was delectable! We also had the teriyaki chicken, salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, takoyaki and edamame – all made to perfection! Shout out to Chef Ray! You can taste his passion and pride for cooking in his food. The wasabi is freshly ground and soy sauce is homemade too!

A must-visit for true Japanese cuisine in Da Nang!

Authentic Japan in the Heart of Da Nang! If you’re craving real Japanese flavors in Da Nang, Umi Izakaya is the place to go. The cozy, nostalgic ambiance feels just like Japan and the food is incredibly authentic! I tried sashimi, teriyaki chicken rice, Hokkaido fried chicken, tempura, Chikayo, omurice, sushi rolls, Wagyu sushi, and a seafood hot pot – everything was DELICIOUS! My favorites were the Omurice and Chikayo – both beautifully prepared and full of flavor. A must-visit for true Japanese cuisine in Da Nang!

The atmosphere was really Japan like!

Delicious Japanese food I had in Vietnam so far coming from Siagon to Da Nang and the atmosphere was really Japan like! I’d also would like to commend Nguyen Hang who assisted me all throughout not to mention that I left my visa card at the restaurant but they managed to have it delivered to my hotel. Thank you for that. Amazing people. Amazing Vietnam. See you again when I come back to Da Nang! Cảm ơn! 👌
